              Must admit i like the idea of the 20 reppers, maybe something i'll look at in the future but for now i will be sticking to the low reps and keep pushing for those strength gains i want!

                  Upto the Christmas break they were going well (all workouts on pages 1, 2 & 3).

                  After starting back this week it seems the 5 weeks off has only taken me back a little, it's more my sore thumb thats hindering progess at the moment.

                  Once my thumb does'nt affect me holding the bar then i recon i should make some steady progress over the next couple of months or so.

                    This evening i worked my legs.


                    Squats

                    8 reps with 60kg (warm up)
                    8 reps with 100kg
                    5 reps with 105kg
                    2 reps with 110kg
                    Failed attempt with 115kg


                    I was pleased with my workout. I've not done legs for nearly 7 weeks and i got more in my first 2 sets this workout than i did back then!

                    01-12-06

                    10 reps with 60kg (warmup)
                    7 reps with 100kg
                    4 reps with 105kg
                    4 reps with 105kg
                    2 reps with 110kg


                    I felt i pushed a bit harder tonight. On the last couple of reps with the 100kg i was thinking about Ed Corney in Pumping Iron, the bit when Arnold is egging him on saying "i want to see two more, no matter what, c'mon"

                    The failed attempt at 115kg was pretty dodgy as i was squatting outside my power rack. I got stuck in the lowest position and had to shuffle forwards with the weight still on my neck. I was nearly going off balance and tipping forward as i was doing this and had to put my left hand down. My neck was pretty much supporting the weight at that point. I was only a couple of feet from my rack so it was'nt too bad! It's quite funny thinking about it now!

                          Im planning on making some good progress over the next few months, although i injured my thumb which is hindering me a bit and p!ssing me off, although i did manage some reasonable workouts this week at least.

                          As soon as thats healed it's full steam ahead!!

                              Haha! Yeah it was quite funny. I texted my boss afterwards and he cracked up!

                              Bit worrying when i nearly tipped forward though. I had my left hand on the floor and it was just my right hand still holding the bar and im leaning forward at the same time!

                              Other than that it was a pretty good workout.
