Deadweight - Strength increases have been a bit slower on everything other than back at the moment, but to be honest thats mainly because i'm going for slightly more reps each week instead of upping the weight, other than deadlifts that is. Rack - Yeah, it was triceps where it seemed to effect me the most this week, although i don't think it will be too much bother next week.

This evening i worked my legs. Squats 8 reps with 60kg (warm up) 8 reps with 105kg 5 reps with 110kg 3 reps with 115kg 4 reps with 115kg 2 reps with 120kg 1 rep with 125kg (personal best) I was well up for tonights workout, but... as soon as i hit the first working set of squats i though 'fcuk me, i don't think i can even manage the 8 reps!!??', as you can see i did manage it, but i was puffing and panting a fair bit. I decided to up the weight and lower the reps, like i've been doing with deadlifts, and i was pretty pleased with the result... 2 reps with my previous personal best and a new personal best of 125kg!

Yeah, i will definitely be dropping some fat at some point. I was originally planning on a serious cut to drop fat as low as i can, although i've now started thinking that i may want to add a bit more size before i go the whole hog with cutting. I don't usually plan things too far ahead and tend to just go with my instinct at the time. What i'm thinking currently is to continue with what i'm doing untill around April time then start a basic cut. Although it will only be to get rid of enough fat so i have what i class as a decent shape for the summer.

Feels ok at the moment. Was a little sore at a couple of points over the weekend but no big deal really. I'm going to take some Ibruprofen before i train later just as a precaution.

Thumbs feels a lot better at the moment, as long as i don't get it bashed around too much it should well on it's way to recovery. I'm itching to get back into doing some bag work but i need to wait till my hands are back to normal (hurt left hand the other week) otherwise it will put me back a step.

Well i'm around half way through the tub of CEE caps, i won't be putting them in water though, no point, it was just to find out what it really tasted like. Although when they have gone i shall probably go with the MY Protein CEE powder, the low cost of the powder compared with tabs/caps certainly outweighs the cr@p taste in my opinion.

Yeah, it did taste like sh!t! I will look into the exact cost difference between the tabs and powder before i decide for sure, but at a glance it seems there is a fair difference so i can see me ending up with the powder. I tried it just in water so i would know what the worst taste is like, i would add cordial otherwise. I'm 31 years young!

This evening i worked my chest. Flat Bench Press 25 press ups (warm up) 20 reps with 60kg (warm up) 8 reps with 105kg 7 reps with 105kg 5 reps with 110kg 4 reps with 110kg 2 reps with 115kg 1 rep with 120kg Flat Dumbell Bench Press 8 reps with 37.5kg 5 reps with 44kg 3 reps with 44kg 3 reps with 44kg 2 reps with 44kg Well finally i've made some progress i'm happy with on my barbell benching! Reps and weight were up from last week, although i was getting a hefty pump or lactic acid build up in my triceps and right shoulder. This impacted on my dumbell pressing a fair bit, but overall i was pretty happy with tonights workout.

Thats not very nice, just because i was'nt the brightest at school there's no need to be rude. ...cheers, things do seem to be slowly coming together at the moment. Thats why i'm just a little unsure about cutting a bit later this year!? Don't want to take myself back too far. Although i think if i'm carefull i should be able to drop fat to a level i'm fairly happy with without losing much strength (if any) or muscle.

I'm pretty good at the moment Gaz. Progress is coming along slowly but surely. Thumb is much improved, as long as i manage to keep away from bashing it around it will be fine.

Cheers Carl, I pretty much enjoy squats as they are a bit of a challenge at the moment. My stats are on the first page of my journal a few posts down, they won't be much different now as i had 5 weeks off over Christmas and up to now i've only really been training towards strength gains as opposed to size gains.

This evening i worked my back. Deadlifts 12 reps with 60kg (warm up) 8 reps with 100kg (warm up) 2 reps with 140kg (warm up) 5 reps with 195kg 4 reps with 200kg 3 reps with 200kg 2 reps with 205kg 1 rep with 205kg Wide Grip Chins 7 reps with 10kg 6 reps with 10kg 4 reps with 15kg 3 reps with 15kg 7 reps with bodyweight 5 reps with bodyweight Tonight was quite a hard workout and i felt a bit short of breath during it. My right hand grip was struggling a bit on the deadlifts. Made a little progress from last week on both deadlifts and chins, although i'm unsure if i will go for the 200k on all working sets next week. ...will just wait and see how i feel on the night.

Rack - I think i'll pass on your choice of sleep pattern! Dan - I'm enjoying the deads at the moment, although i'm maybe trying to push the progress a little quick. I would like a little bit more volume from my working sets but as i keep pushing the weight up the reps stay in the lower range. Once i get the 200k on all sets i may focus a bit more on the volume then!? Just have to see. Deadweight - I like your plan a bit more! Although 6:30 is a bit too early still for my liking!

Yeah, i've got a decent stationary cycle at home. Really would'nt fancing trapesing (sp?) off to a gym in the mornings for cardio, fair play to you for that.

ORIGINAL: DEAD_WEIGHT Thanks, luckily my heating in my car warms up quickly Theres nothing worse for making you want to stay in bed than getting up to go into the cold! I remember when i used to have to get up early in the mornings to fit in AM cardio and i would set my alarm for 5am to go out for 4 mile runs in the winter!
