Fcuking rubbish session. Struggled to get the right mentality today.

Warmup;

30 mins of moderate ab/BW work, hypers, situps, leg raise, twists etc

Push Press

Bar x3
Bar x3
40kg x3
60kg x3
80kg x1
90kg x3, fast-ish, balance poor
90kg x2, strength there, balance not

Front Squat, Feeling a bit dizzy at this stage- lack of carbs?

bar x3
bar x3
60kg x3
80kg x3
100kg x3
122.5kg x3, nice and deep, feel like death so leave it.

Comment;

Not feeling right today, dizzy, faint and generally poor. Balance was terrible on the push press.

Think i've got to back off on push press for a while,

5x3 @75% (adding weight each week) for 6-8 weeks.

Need something to motivate at the moment. Ship without a rudder comes to mind.

    Probably just a one-off mate - were you carb depleted? Hydrated? Too much 'horizontal gymnastics' the night before???

      Hadn't drunk much this morning, i've been experimenting with low carbs this week and generally cutting carbs back.

      I did feel starving hungry throughout the whole session, which suggests it's a food issue.

      I've started takin AAKG, CM and Taurine pre-workout, maybe this is having an adverse affect?

      May just increase carbs next week and see how things develop.

        Even when I'm trying to keep carbs lowish I still make sure I get a bunch in pre-workout; I love feeling full (near bloated) going into a training session haha

          Cheers Cricket, think thats what I'm going to do, i.e. most carbs pre-workout.

            For a bad session it looked pretty good to be honest, mind you when I feel like s***, like you I jack it in, sometimes I reckon you cause more harm training on days like that lol.

              Low carbs make me retarded. I am sure you'll get used to it and some carbs a bit before training would help. I'd take in carbs a good hour prior to training, dependent on what from of carbs you have.

                    My preferred pre-workout snack is fruit (an apple, for instance) and a coffee - give it a go.

                        No spotters at all in the gym so had to change routine.

                        25s x5
                        40s x2, poor, think the MP knackered me!
                        30s x10, much better

                        Close Bench, No spotter so just a few sets

                        bar x5
                        40kg x5
                        60kg x5
                        80kg x10, easy apart from unracking!

                        DB Skulls

                        15s x5

                        Single DB OH Ext

                        5s x8
                        7.5s x8
                        12.5s x8
                        15s    x5

                        Pressdown, 3x20

                        Comment;

                        Pleased with the MP, but was downhill from there, I tire very quickly. Think I may have to drop bench altogether, not much point when I can't get a reliable spot often.

                        No dizzyness issues today.

                            CM= Citrulline Malate, it's a cell volumizer

                            Taurine= Also a cell volumizer, works well with caffeine

                            Just trying out some different supps for fun, did have a very good 'pump' today, not sure if it actually benefits my lifting as having a pump can stop you lifting as well lol. Feels dirty to have a pump after years of anti-bodybuilding training hahah.

                            Try it, its cheap.

                                Cheers fella,

                                I'm going to concentrate on overhead work over bench for a while. Not sure how my training is going to work out, but thinking;

                                Strict Press/DB Bench/Tricep

                                Deads/GM/Chin/Row

                                Push Press/Dips or Close Bench if spotter/Front Squat

                                Not sure, just going to see how it works out.

                                Want the 90kg Strict and 110 Push Press!

                                  Totally agree with subbing in Heavy weighted dips/CG benching/OH pressing in place of benching. Surely 90k strict is within reach having done 87.5k not too long ago? Jealous of your push press!

                                    Yes mate, I'm going for a double on 85kg within the next 3-4 weeks then a crack at 90kg, maybe a bit more.

                                    My push press should be 10kg higher, just need to get the explosiveness going.
