Need a high protein and low carb DIET plan - Advice Appreciated :) 23 January 2012 22:34 (permalink)
Hi,

I have been going to the gym and running for 1.5 years now mainly because i enjoy it and the feel good factor it gives me, however i also feel  that I am not gaining the full potential from it. I want to improve my diet plan and eating habits in order to lose fat where its not needed and let the 'work-in-progress' muscle start to show through....

I think my balance at the moment isn't quite right - Due to 2 things...
1) My amateur diet through the course of a week (bearing in mind i work in an office environment where eating can be trickier and more tempting)
2) My workout plan whilst at the gym... (of which consists of about 25 mins cardio and 30-40 mins machine weights)

So that being said, I feel I need something more balanced with high protein intake and low carbs - a routine i can get to grips with eating and at the gym whilst achieving the results I want....

I know theres probably a million posts like this on here, but I'm never really sure what's the right answer for me - i need someone to spell it out to me please. The pic below is of me now, I know its not great - but hopefully that's where your sound advice comes in... :)

All advice appreciated, whether its to do with diet, workout plan etc... Cheers Ben.

        Alright mate,

I was on the high protein, low fat, low carb diet and it sounds like your looking the same so here's what mine consisted of...

Oats with natural yoghurt (0% fat/sugar) and a scoop of whey protein. You can substitute this for an omelette, with 3 egg whites to one yoke.

Lunch consisted of tuna/chicken/prawns etc with green salad and balsamic dressing.

For dinner, I was eating round steak, or an omelette/chicken with green vegetables again.

If you get hungry during the day, snack on some fruits. Drink plenty of water and green tea.

This is what worked for me, probably not for everyone but it's an idea of high protein, low carb foods :)
