Heh heh, ssshhh. You've got a stone, experience, dare I say age too? Joke. I have every faith in you mate, nail it. Besides, I've got a 'friendly' comp running with BadBoy/Sheeps Clothing for strict BW press, giving me an added incentive. Care to join in?

We may have a slight headstart true. But doesn't a certain someone's cycle start soon? I know it'd spur me on trying to keep my lead

True, in the New Year assuming this glute/hip/ham things heals up... I might join in in some unofficial capacity - what with being a drugs cheat and all LOL

Cheers Iain! Wasn't as smooth as your effort, but got it up nonetheless. Not a great session today. Have had a weird back pain since the weekend, started off really painful but by yesterday it had subsided enough for OH/bench work. Squatting today however, was not going to happen, was popping codeine most of the night but it's still uncomfortable. Decided to give front squats a go having not done them for 6months. Not a great effort, infact pretty disappointing. Felt awkward on my back and seemed to have zero leg strength. Bah. 17/12 Front Squat practised technique with bar 40 x 3 60 x 3 80 x 3 90 x 3 100 x 1 ...Stopped it after 1 . Chins 50 reps in 7sets (PB I think) 10, 8, 8, 7, 7, 5, 5. Shrugs 100 x 10 90 x 10 80 x 10 60 x 20 Over and done with in 45mins. Along with overhead work, decided im going to blast my legs over Xmas too, desperately lacking in strength. I'll also be blasting my back, calves, abs, chest, arms... *sigh* long road ahead of me!

If you're BSing 130 then 100 for a first try in a while on FS is about right TBH. Usual difference is assumed to be around the 70-80% mark IIRC but as good as they are on the back in comparison, if you were in that much discomfort you were never on a winner.

Pish posh and nonsense. A 100kg front squat first go is nothing like a failure. Not doing them again for 6months on the other hand...

First session back at home today. Felt more like cardio if I'm honest. Will have to get use to all this dumbbell malarky. 19/12 Single Arm DB Push Press (each arm) 15kg x 5 25kg x 3 35kg x 1 40kg x 1 45kg x 1 (right only, left failed) 35kg x 3 35kg x 5 Seated DB Press 15kg x 10 20kg x 10 20kg x 10 DB Squats 25kg x 10 35kg x 10 40kg x 10 SLDL 20kg x 10 20kg x 10 20kg x 10 DB Curl 20kg x 10 20kg x 8 10kg x 20 10kg x 15 10kg x 12 10kg x 12 Lying Leg Raises x12 x12 x12 Urggh. Not used to this high-rep stuff. DB Squats definately got the heart pumping, quite rewarding though, felt like a cross between squatting and deadlifting. First time in years Ive tried seated db press, I have no back support on my bench so made it quite awkward on the back. Took 70mins bang on, though spent most of the time changing over the DB's.

Tell me about it mate! I didn't realise I'd neglected high rep training so much. I'll see how it transform my body over the next few weeks DB Push Press aim for next week is 50kg. Squats > 40kg x 3x10, and 50kg x 10 by New Year.

Done under 50mins. All weights will go up next time, 'fret not.

Might be worth thinking about, while you are limited to lighter loads, in doing the smaller muscles first (kinda pre-exhausting them) then moving on to the bigger one.... so do Tris before chest for example.

Pre-exhausting? Is that bodybuilder talk? I'm kind of aiming for more volume after neglecting it lately, so a couple weeks to put some meat on my chest would be no bad thing. I'm getting some more 10kg plate for Xmas so i'll be able to go upto 52.5kg dbs for bench My upper back feels ridiculously sore still from doing shoulders, as are my pectorals!
