Ah yes, the good 'ol back gunzz0rss...

Well, today I am officially giving up on NO xplode. I took 1 scoop pre-workout and not for the first time, i felt nauseous, dizzy and slightly short of breath. Totally ruined my workout. Not only that but it also seems to totally ruin my bowels, by 1.30pm today I'd already had 3 ****s! I think I'll be putting this overrated supplement to the back of my cupboard for the time being and replacing it pre-wo with a trusty banana. I still feel pretty crap now tbh.

    17/09

    Squat
60kg x lots ...just working on form

    BB Bench
    Worked upto 80kg x 17

    DB Bench
    40kg x 10
    35kg x 10

    Chins / Rear Laterals superset
    +5kg x 6 / 10kg x 10
    +7.5kg x 6 / 10kg x 10
    bw x 8 / 10kg x 10

    DB Side laterals
    10kg x 10
    10kg x 10

BB Shrug / Seatded DB Curl superset
    90kg x 8 / 20kg x 8

This piss poor session went on for over an hour as I had to constantly lie down to stop myself from wanting to vomit. All in all I missed about 8sets, no way in hell could i have finished the workout. Not a happy bunny.

EDIT - Now on number 4. And I've also managed to pull something in my hamstring/glute area. Great.

I believe the technical term for the hamstring/glute area would be your rarse.
      You have pulled your rarse.
      Good work.

Looking good for reps on the flat bench n 'bells.
After poking fun at almostnearlyninetydegree syndrome there is now a video capture of my heavy squatting "depth" in my journal for you to point fingers and laugh at.

It took some work jedi, but I suppose it's an achievement nonetheless.

In other news, I've moved into my new flat in manchester, freshers week so far has been pretty hectic and messy. I've only managed to fit 2days worth of training, nothing of which I'll write down, but was basic bench/squat/chin sessions. Will get back onto a routine next week-ish. I need to sort out the internet in the flat too.

Jedi, I'll come poking in your journal soon! This is only a fly-by visit.

          Internet finally up and running!
I won't put up my last 6/7/8 sessions, but I finally cracked 115kg x 3 on the bench. 135kg x 3 squat. Deadlifts are gone, but have subsituted for a whole load of chinups, rear laterals, shrugs and makeshift t-bar rows.

Freshers week has come and gone, as has post freshers week - week so no more major boozing for a while. My flatmate (who has never touched a weight before) is training with me, desperate to put some weight on. In 2weeks he's already making major progress which is good.

          Legs tomorrow.

Some nice triples there, try not to break your new training partner!

Is this your final year of uni?

He's doing really well. He's a cocky bastard so I do try and run him into the ground abit but after only his second (or third?) session he's managed a 70kg squat with near perfect form (much better than mine was when I started). He's managed 3 solid reps with 60kg at a BW of around 73kg / 5ft 9. I've got him eating like a horse and taken a 'before' picture so will make a comparison in 8weeks time.

This is my third year of this course (I changed course and restarted after first year) so technically my fourth at this Uni. But I've then got my Msc to do next year!

              When does your masters start?

Can't come any sooner TBH, still **** all on the job front and i'm dying of boredom now.

2years fulltime?! Crikey. What are you studying?

I can sympathise on the job situation. I had to wait 6weeks before finding anything over summer and had my stepdad constantly hounding me. Eventually got a job and had to leave 6weeks later to go to uni - now I'm in the same situation.

It's a pre-registration Physiotherapy course for post-graduates, so almost like another undergraduate degree squeezed into 2 years because theres already a certain level of knowledge assumed. Within that theres over 1000 hours of placement too which is going to be cracking for getting involved in the clinical environment.

My parents have been hounding me too, but TBH there is so little out there as it is, let alone for someone who's only about for another 4 months or so. I've managed to offset the boredom a bit by doing some background reading for my course and it's quite humbling how much anatomy there is to learn already!

Heh, I lived with 3 physio's for two years, and my ladyfriend lived with 5 of them for 3 years! So I'm well aware of all the placements etc, absolute killer. Which Uni are you going to?

Squat looked good, it also looked like there was at least another rep or an attempt at 145.

                                  Another rep? No chance.
In hindsight I should have just gone for 145 in the first place. I was actually going to give it a go but I'ev had a pretty heavy week and was spent. Boost my confidence though, so 145 should be fine for wednesday/thursday.

It does look a little forward-leany in that vid your right, I hope it's just the angle though. I'll get a side one for you next week to judge. But I've only done 140 once before which was abit questionable, so was happy with thias attempt.
