Cheers for the vote of confidence Jed but unfortunately things got worse again before they got better.

Skipped session on friday, wasn't feeling too sharp after having *1* slice of toast for brekky. My brother was visiting too and so a few mandatory beers seemed in order. Had managed 2 solid (small) meals by about 7pm and all of 4pints but promptly vomitted everything up before dinnertime. Yesterday followed a similiar template but had managed to eat a little more... before vomitting everything up AGAIN. Went out to watch the Haye fight in the pub, drank cordial all night, got home at 4am. Feel ok today bar some horrible poopies and am now attempting some more food!

Weight now : 14st 2lb... And not one inch lost off my waist!!

CF, very kind of your mum! I'd love to document my seedy activities... plus my "lounge-gym" sessions.

Managed 3 solid meals yesterday, aiming for 4 today. Body is 90% there, stomach just feels abit weird though this may be delayed hunger! I'm tempted to do a little something-something tonight but am wary not too push my body into doing anything it doesnt want to do.

In the meantime, I watched Pumping Iron for the first time ever last night, and Bigger, Stronger, Faster today. Both good films, however my views on Arnie have changed somewhat...

Thought I'd pop by as you showed me the courtesy of a visit.... some nice lifting. I may well have browsed in here before but then bailed when I saw you PP 90kg..... I've brocken it now (last week) but I've been stuck on that for fcuking ages.

Heh heh, cheers for popping in. I find my overhead work is comparably better than my other lifts for some reason, even though I barely do any. I managed to get 100k overhead during the summer, then after 1 MP session I got 90x2x3 push pressing (while still ill may I add ) so am very happy with that!

Who know's what'll happen once I get some training/sleeping/eating consistancy going.

It was clearly a mistake me coming in here, I now hate you possibly more than MrM LOL.... yeah, get settled in a 'routine' more and the world's your oyster as they say.

That's strong. Oddly my shoulders, aesthetically, are one of my stronger features (which may have caudes me to be lazy in their training) but their strength is poor for a) my time doing this and b) my size. 100 is my target. I might squeeze a single if I have the balls later this year but I really want it to be my work weight more consistantly than that.

But surely you can be smug in the knowledge that your bench by far outpisses mine? Saw you tripled 130, that's pretty tasty. And 100x10 CG Bench too boot. Aaaaand your front squat is within spitting distance of my back squat!

However I'll continue to satisfaction in that I have 1 exercise in which i can reasonably hold my own

You have to account for the fact that I am a) 20lbs heavier than you (ATM anyway) b) been training for 15+ years and c) done a few cycles over the years.... factor those in and my lifts suck LOL

However, I do seem to have found some direction this last few months so I'm hopeful that I can make amends and start to progress as I should have been all these years past.

I get the jist from reading here that you train at home, is that right?

                I'll give you that.

Am i right in thinking you've had a pretty hard time with injuries etc?

I train at home yeah. In the 2 and abit years I've been lifting I've trained in 3 different garages, a bedroom, a horrible 10' x 10' concrete garden area under tarpaulin and now in the lounge of a 1st floor flat! (hence no deadlifts now).

Don't have the funds really for a membership and lack of a car is a pain. I'm happy with what I've got though. Hopefully moving into a house with the missus in July, so will be moving into another garage!

I've had some big back probs... not probs with a big back LOL Hence why you won't see me back squat, only just got back into DLing again. The last few years, touch wood, have all been good tho. Other than a few niggles her and there and the odd alignment issue I've pretty much settled in my groove of what I can and can't do, and what I need to do or avoid.

I can't imagine I'd PP anything in a lounge LOL, would seem very surreal.... no big mirrors for starters. Dunno how you manage that.

                  Is that choice or forced?

Ah well, good to hear your coming to some sort of agreement with the back.

Mirrors? Never had them so I don't miss them! I think I'd be put off if I saw myself lifting... sweat coming out of every orifice, dribbling with spittle... na, not what I'd want to see thankyou very much

The only issue is that we have quite a low ceiling, so 15's and 20's cant be used, have to load the bar with 10s, 5s, 2.5s, 1.25s. Only have 95kg worth of small plates so I'll come to a stalling point pretty soon dont worry

Blimey, that must take an age to load. I probably wouldn't be able to fit loading the bar into my strict 2 min rest periods LOL

Don't fancy a garden gym like T0NY then?

Lucky for me in my second year at uni, my "gym" didn't look all too dissimiliar to this: (only where grass, imagine cracked concrete slabs - and also my house wasn't as nice as this!)

T0NY's garden looks like David Lloyds in comparison. But if I'm 'allowed' to use the garage next year, I'll most definately be using it

Cheers DV, means alot to get some encouragement. Technically I don't think it was particularly great, knee had a slight wobble and wasnt as far out as I'd like, but I'm not going to get the protractor out and whinge about it. I'm just made up that after 8days of ****ting my guts out and 1000kcals a day I got a PB! Totally chuffed 150 at my new bodyweight of 91 kg I'm sooo svelt!

I like the volume too, altho you could have probably saved a bit on the 10 reps with 30

To hit a PB while recovering from that bodes very well for future weeks

It was already on the bar and set up so just did it. Have yet to really to come up with a solid warmup routine. I do think I do better with more reps at the lower end of the scale though. I think DaKensta mentioned something on my military press as well, i.e. too much low-end volume... but hey, it works

Well to be fair, 10x30 is not going to take anything out of you energy wise but on the same note, with that much volume pyramidding up it will  make little difference whether you do 5, 7, 10, or 15 reps TBH.... but yeah, I would probably not have that many sets under 100. Like you say tho, you have your routine and it works so feel free to give me a cyber 2 finger salute
