Shame on me your right. Lower back/abs just felt like jelly and struggled to keep decent form. Just wasn't happening today. Cardio is tomorrow too, not weights as I previously mentioned. As soon as this games out the way I'm going to go back and concentrate on strength, keeping cardio consistantly low I'm looking at a house on thursday. It's a townhouse so all the bedrooms are downstairs, and kitchen/lounge upstairs. I've been given 'permission' that should we like it I'm allowed my very own weights room Helloooo deadlifts. Failing that, one of the bedrooms apparently sliding doors onto a patio area so I'm sure I'd be able to cope.

Sounds nice, albeit an upside down house Is this a Uni rental job or a purchase..... I've lost track who's doing what and how old everyone is (considering the week has only just begun I'm really struggling today LOL). Sounds good anyway

An upside house indeed! Really messed with our heads when we were looking at pictures trying to workout which room was which. Thankfully my gf did abit of CSI and worked it out Glad we worked it out before going to view it, for a fear of coming across as numpties to the agent. I've got 1 more year at Uni doing my Masters, but I'll be commuting in from outside Manchester. Moving in with the girlfriend so had to be somewhere where she could get to work (Staffordshire) so best of both worlds. Plus the rent is damn sight more cheaper than my flat at the moment. And it's to rent, not buy unfortunately.

This is THE move I spoke about a fair few months ago! Scary stuff. I foresee a few arguments coming moving day but she's a pretty laid back girl, so touchwood we'll be alright.

I'm sure it'll be fine. Obviously there's the inevtiable give and take issue. The key factor being, you will have to give more than her just be ready for that and you will live a happy life together

Trust me, I'm already used to that mate! Bit of fanny session today. Lacking energy/drive/enthusiasm, but happy with the benching. Rowing felt horrible at first for my elbow, but after the second set felt alot more comfortable. Then just did some other bits and bobs too. Cardio IS tomorrow now, not today as I said before. Was stuck in Uni most of the day and I only have an off-peak gym membership. 27/04 Bench bar x 10 60 x 3 80 x 3 100 x 2 110 x 1 120 x 1 130 x 1 pb **finally cracked it 100 x 10 100 x 7 100 x 7 DB Row 25kg x 5 35kg x 10 35kg x 10 35kg x 10 35kg x 10 35kg x 10 DB Side Raise 10kg x 10 10kg x 10 10kg x 10 10kg x 10 Then a crap load of gun pumping curls using a 5kg plate/10kg dumbbell to get my elbow moving. 3x15 band pull aparts to finish. 130 attempt was close to a fail, my right shoulder felt like it was going to dislocate!... obviously not though

Nice PB mate, well done. Does the elbow hurt just from being tight around the surgery area? If so would some kind of thermo based support be useful in getting it up to speed quicker?

130kg bench, sick work, at least you aren't being a whinger like DV about a good bench effort DV makes some sense though; assuming the wound's closed then a heat pack a few times a day might help if the skin can tolerate it, if providing nothing more than a raise in temperature to help lax out the connective tissues a bit.

Thanks DV, it's actually my other elbow that I've got a problem with. Pushing movements are fine, pulling is abit of a bugger. Thanks AK. As above, it's my 'good' arm I'm having niggles with. Going to try the heatpack/Icepack combo tonight.

At least with the 'good' arm you can apply whatever treatment works without issue then. When he's spent half his training life hovvering around the same bench weight and making futile progress he'll soon start whinging at least as good as me and when he beats me I'll really get going LOL

Your benching is pretty safe for now DV, you've got nothing to worry about. 28/04 Cardio: Concept 2 Row: 5 x 500m (roughly 5seconds quicker per set than last week) Treadmill: 5min 'fitness' test @ 7.3kph (Gave max V02 reading at 43.8 - average) Treadmill: 3x 90s runs @ 8.5kph w/45s rest Treadmill: 3x 60s runs @ 10kph w/20s rest Bike: 5km @ 70-80% max heart rate.

What's your best 500mtr time? I had a bash last year when the gym ran a comp, probably only ever tried a hand full of times in my life and I won with 1'27 (dead I think). 1st 45secs felt piss easy, then it was like flicking a switch and I couldn't lay the power down and I was sure someone would be able to plant down for longer and beat me.... didn't actually win a fcuking tho, bastards!

Last time I tried a full on sprint was when I was 16/17. Time's were around high 1min 30's or low 40's. Nothing amazing. I've only sat on a rower about 5 times since then (5years+) three of which have been in the last 12 days First time I tried them I wanted an average across the 5sets which was under 2mins/500m. This time average 1min 55s/500m with 60seconds rest between sets. Next week all 5 sets to be under 1m 50s w/60s rest (that's the aim anyway). 1m 27 is bloody good mate. I think the world record is 1m 16. Not far to go! Did you do much cardio back then?

This was only last year, so no LOL.... I think genetically (for want of a better term) my body has slightly favoured muscular endurance (used to be a 400mtr runner etc) tho never excelled at anything much TBH LOL but it may mean I have a slight tendancy to be better than expected at those types of events/sports. They just aren't much fun

No.13 115 x 3 That is a worrying development. Especially if it were to develop into 120 x 3.

I'm now getting 115x3 consistantly now, whereas before it was only resigned to my 'good' days. However, I followed your wise words... jedi No.13 115 x 4 130 should be a doddle. Then may I bring your attention to: 27/04 Bench 130 x 1 120x2 next week perhaps?

Very nice work, that's a good few reps on 90 too. Bench is looking promising. I just wish all of you weren't lighter than me, at least I'd have an excuse then LOL
