Try this stretch (start gentle);

http://z.about.com/d/exercise/1/0/K/_/seatedforearmstretch.jpg

Try it couple times a day and after gym espcially.

I get quite tight forearms (which gives elbow pain one or the other side) because for work I use tools, so im gripping things a lot.
Takes time to take effect, but after keeping up the stretching (and 2 sports massages) Its eased quite a bit. I dont have the pain or aching I use to.

Worth a try. =) Espcially considering a lot of elbow pain comes from the forearm muscles.

Heh, I've just had a few days rest

Cheers for the help fun, but there seems to be no such stretch which hits the spot!

Rugby on Saturday was pretty good. We ended up playing back to back games though as they wanted to try out a development squad too (i.e. young, fast ****ers). Thankfully I only had to play 100minutes across the two games, but I was pretty banged up by this point. We won first game 12-10, and drew the second 5-5! Really scrappy games and boy was my body suffering come Sunday.

Anyhoo, thought I'd get some sort of routine back again.

      11/05

      Strict Press
      (first rep cleaned from floor)
      20 x 5
      40 x 5
      60 x 5
      75 x 3
      75 x 3
      75 x 3

      Clean & Press
      (every rep cleaned from floor)
      60 x 5
      60 x 5
      60 x 5

      Standing DB Press
      25 x 8x3

      Upright Row
      30 x 10x3

      DB Tri Extensions
      10kg x 10x5

Felt good to get the body moving again. Those clean & presses felt more like cardio, lovely.

Bit of a Pressathon going on there.

I feel bad enough the next day after an hours basketball, nearly 2hrs Rugby would leave me crying on my bedroom floor til the weekend. Must have felt good to get going again tho.

Indeedy. The rack has now been sold on, so expect lots of OH work and db bench for the next two weeks I may try some rowing later on in the week if my elbow allows it, felt especially uncomfortable on Sunday.

It certainly did feel good. However it also reminded me just how much time it takes up, you virtually lose your weekend.

I bet, recovery must be a bitch...... L-Glutamine

How muh did you get for the rack in the end? I should have nabbed it after the time I had to wait to get on 'my' rack today

L-Glutamine may be worth a bash. There are a couple of posters on here who swear by it, I may try and pick some up this weekend.

It went for £26 in the end and was collected from my front door. I'm going to give it 2-3weeks to check out the new gyms where I'm moving to before buying anything else. I kind of miss the gym environment now.

In other news, I *may* be in line for an internship this summer which would set me nicely. Only downside is that it's a bugger to get to with public transport and I've not owned a car since passing my test 3 years ago. Should be interesting.

I found that there was a definate difference when I started taking L-glut.... not hugely in performance as such but recovery and also general health. I come down with far fewer bugs and those I do get don't drag on.

£26, that OK, a net gain of £66 considering what it would have cost to get removed - bargain. You should take that to Dragons Den.

                What's the internship involve then?

Really? Definately worth a punt then.

The rack cost me £50 back in 2007, but I've had my money's worth, not to mention all the gym fees it's saved me.

The internship is for a construction and property development company. But they're looking to expand through individuals without a construction background to work with the design team and act as a project leader. Would absolutely love it, and the ££ and benefits are exceptional. However, I won't be getting my hopes up...

I would say so. I've just bought a kilo for £18. At 2 generous 5ml spoonfulls pre and PWO and also 2 spoonfulls on non-training days that should see me for 2 months, maybe a bit more.

Good luck with the internship tho, sounds good.

Training news? Pretty much zero unfortunately. Nice of you to check I'm still alive though
Last 2 weeks were spent finishing up my Uni work, I've officially completed my BA, just my Masters in September to go now

I/We've finally signed for our house! So I've been spending alot of time jumping on trains all over the place to get forms completed, money cleared and references checked. Also spent a weekend in Bradford hiring a van and collecting furniture. As of today I'm packing up my belongings in the flat before moving out Thursday. Friday will involve more furniture moving, then Saturday-Monday on a stag do in Newcastle. Tuesday-Thursday in the new house again tidying up. Friday & Saturday back in Manchester to clean the flat and hand in keys! I'm also trying to organise work experience and/or a job for the summer too.

So unfortunately my training has been somewhat lacklustre. I've managed to fit in about 2 or 3 mediocre sessions since I last posted in here, but nothing of importance or worth so I won't bother typing them up. Touchwood, in about 2 weeks time I'll be back into a routine. Until then, I'll continue to lurk the forums!

Nothing special today, although at least I did manage to fit in a quick session in between my packing duties. Thought I'd best log it though to at least keep things ticking.

Then arsed around attempting db squats, db lunges and db sldl. Most resulted in misery.

Could have gone heavier on the push press, but didn't want to risk it as it's been a while - plus I wasn't overly confident on shoulder stability. Will go to the gym tomorrow for some rowing. Though I'll see if I can get on the leg press first. Better than nothing.

To have a spell away yet still clean and press 90, that's pretty decent. Nice one

Riiighhhtt... I'm back and sorted, internet came on today. Last few weeks training and diet has been non-existant. Infact, the last couple of months have been pretty poor with dissertation and uni work taking priority.

I've moved out my flat now and into my new house with the ladyfriend (****ing stressful experience to say the least) stag weekend been and gone too. So I'm offically poor, weak and unfit.

However, I'vemanaged to have 3 sessions this week in my new gym, and it's bloody good. PAYG or £25 a month, 5-10minute cycle from my house, set in a mill on an industrial estate, plenty of plates, plenty of bars and benches, grimey rappy hip hoppy music blaring away, no air con, and it's run by a sound bloke who's competed for 23years. Everyones ****ing massive but there's absolutely zero ego's. The owner's already picked up on my squatting and got chatting a few times. Needless to say i'm pretty chuffed to have found a place I can escape to when the missus pisses me off.

Anyway, probably really not worth noting this weeks sessions, not only were they poor, but also full-body randomness.

                                      However, a few lowlights:

Squat: Been approx. 6wks. Squatted in all three sessions, first time worked upto 120 x2x3, second session was 100 x3x8 and todays was 140 for a single. All felt bloody hard.

Bench: Did sets at 80kg which I unfortunately found rather difficult. Rest of time has been spent on db incline (first time for along time) using the 35's. No drive to train chest atm.

Push Press: Worked upto 80 x3x3 today, no strength there. Didn't feel good.

Leg Press: First time ever using a proper leg press, worked upto sets on 200kg by the the third session. Felt comfortable.

Deads: First time deadlifting for 12months! Three sessions, first resulted in 5x1 at 140kg, felt heavy. Second session worked upto 160x2, back felt fragile. Today worked upto 5x1 on 160kg, felt much stronger. Shouldn't take long hopefully to add some weight back on.

So that's where I stand at the moment. Not very happy with my strength but if I'm lucky, it won't take long to change that. Diet's been pretty much spot on this week, I'm being less anal about it and instead cycling everyday so feeling better in that respect.

                                      Short term aims (12weeks max):
To equal previous pb's (Bench 130, done a few weeks ago. Squat 150x3, done a few weeks ago. Dead 190, done approx. 12 months ago).

                                      Aims for Xmas:
                                      Bench 140
                                      Squat 180
                                      Deadlift 220

                                      Easy.

Anyway, sorry for the rambled first post, got to dash to bed. Probably won't train tomorrow as I'll watch the football and rugby, perhaps abit of cardio instead.
