Nodumbelle's back! 09 January 2012 19:33 (permalink)
Well, it's been AGES since I last posted on here. But I'm back to start a new journal, that will herald a 'New Me'!
The last few months have been incredibly stressful and full of life changing events...that have led to a total change in body shape and levels of fitness.
I was going to enter the MT 12 week challenge, but seeing as I'm due to go into hospital shortly for major abdominal surgery, then after recovery from that, I'm in for knee surgery it wasn't logical to enter the comp. However, I am determined to regain my former shape and levels of fitness asap. The past year has seen me start a new business, which has had me sitting on my arse infront of a computer screen for most of the day. I have been going to the gym, but my diet has been atrocious and consequently my 8st 4lb figure has ballooned to probably around 10 stone
So...now I've got to that point, where I'm fed up of feeling lethargic, fed up of having a muffin spilling over my waistband and fed up of the 'I'll start it tomorrow' crap.
I've taken photos of myself, which also really brought home just how far I've let myself slip....I'm not posting them now, but I will when I'm back in shape...as the total and utter embarrassment will be nowhere near as bad, when I have good pics too!
Tomorrow morning I'll be hitting the gym and keeping a log on here of what I'm doing with the weights, cardio and diet.
Early night tonight and early up...here goes

        Thanks Flick!

Yesterday's gym session went very well and I also managed a good session on the road bike.
Diet was not good as I'm feeling crappy with the sinusitis...apart from the oats for brekkie, lunch was 2x oatcakes and a small amount of skinned chicken and supper was brocolli and steamed fish...not enough!

Had a really poor nights sleep again last night, but hell or high water I'm going to the gym - today is shoulders, biceps and triceps:
        CABLE CROSSOVER - UP
        LAT. RAISE
        FRONT RAISE
        BARBELL PRESS
        PREACHER CURLS
        BICEP TWISTS
        RADIANT CURLS
        TRICEP KICKBACKS
        TRICEP PUSHDOWN
        TRICEP EXTENSION
I've really upped my water intake too - thanks to a nifty American device called the 'Bobble bottle', which is basically a water bottle with built in filter...it makes tap water taste like Evian!
Righty ho...just eaten an apple and some chicken, so heading off to the gym now...lunch is going to be oat cakes and chicken and supper homemade meatballs...skipping the pasta and loading up on veg. Will have three snacks inbetween of cottage cheese/ oatcakes (organic, no sugar), lean ham and peanut butter (Whole Earth, no added sugar)
Seem to be dumping loads of water too...the scales read 10 stone 3lbs on Sunday and today they read 9 stone 12.8lbs....Christmas this year was a mega binge on simple carbs and sugar which made me retain loads of water - now it's flushing through the system!!!
Will try and get either a run, or session on the road bike in too today.
Logic is overated. Big time. There's always a way!

Flick - Why can't you have oatcakes and peanut butter? The ones I have, have no sugar and are organic.
Today has gone to plan bar two things...After a good one and a half hours in the gym, I couldn't manage any cardio today...and because I'm still feeling poo with the sinusitis I couldn' eat any of the lovely supper I cooked for the family. So basically...workout went as planned...no cardio...not eaten any where near enough!
Tomorrow is a new day....meetings early door, but late afternoon/early evening I will be staying on course with a killer leg work out!!!

                Hi Dazc! :-)
Been away over the weekend, had a lovely relaxing time and enjoyed eating Mum's delicious food, which is, as ever...possibly the healthiest on the planet
I'm down around 5lbs in the last week, which will predominately be water, but feeling great an ready to start this week headlong and headstrong. Back to business tomorrow!

                    Hi!
                    Missed this one!
Guessing you're in for the abdominal surgery?
Hope it went and you're recovering well.
                    xx
