Noob looking for info & assistance 02 February 2012 09:38 (permalink)
Dear All,

I am completely new to this, I want to get lean and build up.

I am hoping that I can achieve my goal of getting a lean body with muscles (arms, chest, abs) by working out at home. I have done a little bit of research and have came up with the routine below, I also intend on upping my protein intake - with this am I am hoping to do so through just eating more protein foods, or is the better option protein shakes?

Routine: 3 set of 10 - 3/4 times a week
Hindu press up
Hindu squat
Bicycle crunches
Burprees
Press ups
Dumbbell curls
Incline dumbbell press
Decline flyers
Dumbbell pullovers
Resistance band overhead press
Resistance band lateral press
Resistance band bicep curls

I am 5'10 currently weighing about 12 stone with a pop belly.

With regards to my diet I am improving this, I used to eat alot of crap but I have got it down to this roughly now:
Breakfast - eggs on toast no butter or oatmeal
Snack - yogurt
Lunch - chicken salad or cous cous with ham and egg
Snack - apple, banana or orange
Dinner - meat with streamed veg
I hope that this is in the correct part of the forum and makes full sense.

Thanks in advance, any help/advice is very much appreciated.

    Hi and welcome

That's a good basic starting routine.  Try it for 6-8 weeks, then move onto something like this: http://articles.muscletal...g-stepping-stones.aspx

Diet principles look ok, but results will depend on your portion sizes.  I'd also throw down a couple of protein shakes per day too
