Mascherano is underated by non Liverpool followers as he doesnt score goals and put himself in the spot light. In the position he plays, he is world class imo.

but with  with no ronaldo united had a very poor start 2 the season, u better hope he dont get injured or they wont win much.

uniteds back up players are harldy world beaters either, speaking to a man utd fan who actually goes 2 watch he thinks its all chelseas this season if they can find a goal scorer

I have never heard soo much crap posted, its like saying if Torres was injured for liverpool they would be nowhere,or if geovanni wasnt playing for hull, they would be bottom of the league, its all complete nonsense.

Football is a team game and since Ronaldo has been back he has a goal and a couple of assists, hes just contributing to the team like rooney does, like tevez does like ferdinand does, need i go on.
If you love something let it go,if it comes back to you it's yours,if it doesn't it never was.

Kuyt scores a winner from a re bound and now hes so effective all of a sudden?

That was his first prem goal in 29 games or so,rooney plays in a similar position and scores alot more than kuyt and yet hes constantly criticised on here.

Hes last 3 finishes show he has the potential to score alot more, and were class finishes.

Think some people should look and see just how effective rooney is for united as united very rarely lose or draw when hes playing.

As above theres only 2 teams who have a realistic chance of winning the league.

Every season now for the last 8 or so years i have heard and listened to liverpool fans, say this is our season,we will be closer this season.

Just accept it.......its not going to happen for a long time, if it ever does.

They have had an ok start and already liverpool fans are getting carried away.

As for Arsenal they have no chance.

funnily enough park ji sung started every champs game for united apart from the final where he wasnt even on the bench.

I could say if liverpool didnt have torres and gerrard theyd be mid table team.

if chelsea didnt have ..... it just goes on.

Ronaldo is bragging rights until he goes to real madrid though its one of those unwritten rules

Who won the the cl and prem?

Man utd.

Take Drogba away from Chelsea the last time they won thee league...would they have won it?

Take Henry away from Arsenal the last time they won the league......would they have won it?

So every time someone wins something today, you minus there most effective player and think would they have won it without them, its something that you will never no the answer to.

So why bother putting the question forward?

it happend with arsenal mate get used to it until he signs for real , its just a debate on if man utd could have replaced him if for example he had broken his leg in septemer of last season, would they have had the same succsess.

And it was a  MAN UTD fan earlier in the thread said united has good cover for every player, just diffrent opinions:) i personally feel they would have won nothing.

now on to rooney, IF he was injured and man utd signed Heskey would they have still won what they did last season? I think Yes they would, other opinions? :)

yeah i know. the ref was right next t them as well!! ha..
ah well. maybe thats why he got a bad injury.. karma! should have been sent off but wasnt so got injured instead... time for agger t step up.. this could be god tho as it would mean that he is def not bein sold in jan, if he's playin wk in wk out for a while he wont wanna go anywhere!!

No offence to skrtel but im glad he got injured as i rate agger a better player and agger wasnt even given a chance apart from 1 game in the carling cup. Now skrtel wont get in the team as benetiz will see agger is a better defender and can also attack unlike skrtel, dont get me wrong skrtel is ace but agger is better in my books. I hope skrtel's not out for long though.

yeah course they are! that is the difference between those 2 and us and arsenal..
l'pool wouldnt ****t if we lost SG tho!! i know it was only 1 game, but we proved we can put together a great performance without him and nado by beatin utd!
masch is world class and so is xabi so we have plenty cover for SG in the middle. lucas is an excellent prospect for the future too..
imo we are more equipped than the gunners, but still off the pace of utd and chelsea in that respect!

Come off it, good players but they are far from world class

Who said kuyt suddenly effective casue he scored? I stand by my statement which i have repeated since the start of the season that he is not a RW and is wasted there. He would do well up front with torres imo.

An ok start 17 points from 21 points and you call it an 'ok' start, if thats ok what category would you place man utd's start into?

There ability to come back against man utd (beat utd without gerrard and torres) and man city show they have bags more ability than last season and they will clearly finish closer (unless we have a injury plagued season eg 3/4 players getting injured at once) to man u and chelsea, thats if man u ever catch up

makaveli- liverpool have had an 'OK' start? eh?
its our best start in a long time. and better than utd's this yr and last yr. so its slightly better than 'ok'.. in this 'ok' start we have beaten city away, everton away and need i remind u, beaten u lot without torres and steve g.. so we are hardly havin an 'ok' start!
we may not have the size and qulity in our squad as chelsea and utd do.. but that means f' all if they are not perfomring. our squad is perfomring at the moment.. yeah it may change, but as for now, we have had a better start than u and are rightly ahead of u in the league!

Pay a bit more attention to the thread.

As for uniteds start i would say its sh1te but better than last years, and we all know what happened last year.

And wow Liverpool beat man utd at home for the first time in a long time, yet couldnt defeat stoke at home.

I will stick with my statement and say its an ok start from Liverpool.

I can see where Sonic is coming from mind you as Ronaldo was the integral part in Uniteds success last year. He is not firing as of yet this year and they are not playing as well. A simple fact and no need for major arguments over it really.

Decent start by Liverpool. Nothing too worrying to man u and arsenal imo, those points will be picked up sooner or later, and chelsea are the favourites whichever way you look at it.  Very, very strong looking team at the mo

i think his position was just questioned mate when berbs was bought! he was in bad bad form, but is turnin it round now with some good finishes and performances recently!!

the positive thing for us (l'poolo) is that the first 3 games we were fairly poor.. yet still came away wi 7 pts... last season that wouldnt have happened! we would have pulled out draws from all 3 probs..
it shows we are prgressin.. utd have done this for yrs, have played a poor game yet still taken all 3 pts.. im not sayin that is what will win us the league.. but will def help!

I agree that Xabi Alonso is not world class. A very good player but not good enough to warrant a place in the starting lineup in the 4th best team in England.

Mascherano is definitely not underrated, most football fans recognise him for exactly what he is - a very effective midfield spoiler who offers very little going forward.

i agree with integras last comment.. and john cappa's ;-)

i love how u choos eur words carefully integra cos u know saying somethin like... ' not good enough to warrant a starting place in the 4th best team in england'.. will cause yet more bivkering!haha.. imo we are now the 3rd best team in england! last seaosn gunners finished ahead of us for the first time in 3 yrs.. does that make them a better team now?? does united winnin the league last 2 yrs make them a better team tha chelsea who won it the 2 yrs previous??
as said before.. i think utd and chelsea are on a par.. and if anythin, we are on par with the gunners, however i think we are slightly ahead of them!

my argument for xabi and masch bein world class is a simple one. they both start in their preferred positions for 2 of, if not, the best national teams in the world! that t me says world class.

Xabi does not start for Spain, in Euro 2008 he was behind Senna, Iniesta, Xavi and Fabregas in the pecking order.
