Where has all this Given is great talk come from.  Given is a decent keeper but seriously, people are listening far too much to Sky Sports

I make my own opinions, I'm sure i've said a few years ago about how much I rate Given.  I've allways followed Newcastle closely, he is top class.  Wegner rates him too.

Sammy Eto'o raped him in the biggest game in the world.

Eto'o got past him and scored,hardly a raping and hardly all of Vidic's fault.

It was definitely a raping my friend. He made Vidic look like an under 9 centre back.
 
Vidic does not have the composure to ever be the best or near the best.

It was a slack bit of defending,but up until that point United were dominating and the Eto'o goal came out of nowhere at that stage for Barca.

Vidic should have done better and should have headed the ball against Torres at OT.

But as I said your just pinpointing a mistake or 2 and using that as logic as to why his not one of the best.

My logic of him being the most consistent defender in the EPL over the last 3 season is factual based on him being in each team of the season and winning barclays player of the year.

Unless of course you think all 4 of those were mistakes on behalf of the people that voted.

Ronaldo missed a penalty in a UCL final never performed against LOLerpool got himself sent off a few times but this doesn't mean he is not world class.

Consistency against weaker teams is all very well but when you lack consistency and mental strength in the big games you become a liability. See Thierry Henrys record in cup finals for example.
 
The way Vidic panics under pressure against top drawer strikers can not and should not be overlooked.
 
 

There is stronger teams in the EPL than LOLerpool.

Chelsea Arsenal etc....

Possibly an inform Drogba for Vidic to have battle with on Sunday....

I agree here, Vidic is good, but seems to bottle it against the better strikers.
 
But Puyol, in the best pairing lol!! I do like Chiellini though, he is raw, but good, maybe not the best at the moment though.

Puyol is a crafty old cnut. Schooled Wayne Rooney in the ECL final so gets a place in my lineup for stepping up in the big games.

Chiellini may be raw but he still has Torres and Villa tucked safely away in his back pocket from the Euros.
