Well i dont feel Babal was given a prolonged run in the team in his favoured position and after that outburst id imagine he'll be sold ASAP either back to Holland or some mid table team in Spain.

As for Mascherano, he'll be off in the summer, not January as he'd be cup tied for any decent team that wants him e.g Barca

Reina + Torres are the 2 major concerns about not finishing top 4. Not sure who either would join should they decide to leave, i cant see them playing for another English club, and Barca and Real are both sorted for a GK. Dont think either would drop down and play in Italy either. As for Torres, would he join his rivals Real or Barca??

Everton at the weekend really is a massive game, those few supporters who still actually back Rafa may change their views if they dont beat the toffees.

Souness spoke alot of sense last night on Sky when he discusses the consequences of being knocked out last night and what maybe in store should they not finish in the top 4 this season.

As a Liverpool supporter I am actually glad in one way that they did not qualify - it was putting of the inevitable and would have papered over the cracks.

Atm there is no other manager capable of taking over and I include Guus Hiddink, Jose Mourinho and even Kenny Daglish so Benitez is here to stay imo.

The fact we didnt qualify will highlight the fact that we are not good enough as we do not have strength in depth. The money from qualifying will only have got snapped up as an interest payment by the Yanks.

I think the yanks will be forced to sell very soon.

To rectify the season they need to do the following imo.

1. Try and keep the 1st team as fit as possible.
2. Get Aquilani playing.
3. Aurelio at left back.
4. Sell the poor fringe players, by 1 good player, use the reserve players as squad players.
5. Sort out the defence - if that means Pelligrino going so be it!
6. Win something - FA Cup/Europa League
7. There is an obvious problem with training as most players have suffered a hamstring tear/problem - Sort this out

Torres is an interesting one, think you could rule out a move to Real, add Barca spending big on Ibrahimovic and it looking likely robinho may go there, i dont see a spanish club signing him.

Outside of spain, who could afford him? Ac Milan imo would be the most likely from the italians, seeing as Inter have invested so much in Etoo (well, hardly invested!) and that other new fwd they have, cant remember his name!

Could anybody in Germany/France afford him? Doubtfull to say the least!

Lastly, England. This is imo the most likely destination, man city being the best bet, simply due to the cash they will have at their disposal.

ive been thinkin about our training as well.. somethin cant be right there as everyone is fallin down crocked!!
we do need aurelio in left back too.. insua has done a job but his lack of pace has been highlighted massively..aurelio imo is a quality left back.
really dont think torres would go to city.. dont think he owuld go to any english club..

bad times ahead unless we make changes!

LOLerpool faves for the europa league? man your egos know no limits! you will be lucky to make the quarters the way your playing, let alone win!

Are LOLerpool the next Leeds? Could well be if their debt is as bad as the papers go on about. Imagine if they didnt even finish top 6! Would be an amazing season to watch as a non prem fan.

I quite liked Babels press release, has basically sai dthe manager doesnt listen to him. This is a player he signed for nearly 12 mil, and he is ignoring him!??? Can no way see Rafa ending the season as their manager!

Lpool are by quite abit fav's mate, 7-1 to win it, with shaktar 10-1.

Mr.M - good point about the dressing room bit but despite being put out of the CL gotta say im looking foward to europa league games and we should be reaching the final. I agree the injuries seem abit weird.

Papa Lazarou - since hes came hes hasnt been given a proper chance and is playing out of position, so im not surprised he wants to move, hes got potential.

Ruling out a spain move cant really see torres playing in any other league, or for another team in the prem. Cant see masc going in JAN at all. I would also keep degen as back for johnson.

ice- why should we fair any better in the europa league than we did in the ECL tho??
some of the teams in it are on their day as good as anythin we have played this yr!!
by all means bet on them, but dont just think simply cos we're favourites that we'll walk it.. we lost at home to lyon this yr, massively outplayed in italy and only put 2 goals past a poor hungarian side, who the other 2 managed to put a sh1t ton of goals past!!

You make a good point mate but It can only get better for us, once we get everyone fit and aqua playing things will come good. It just have faith in lpool to do the job in the europa league, im confident we can get to the final. We know the leagues is away this season and should be going balls out to win europa cup tbh and fa cup.

Think totally as a non Liverpool fan...

Do you think top 4 is guaranteed? No chance, its still hit and miss...

Do you think we will do well in the Europa league? No chance, end of...

Will the team get better or continue to play poorly and slip further down the table? Who knows!

Things very much can get a lot worse so saying they can only get better is very much wrong!

I really do fear the worst as i have said for the majority of this season. Its too late to change things now so we just have to sit it out and hope we qualify for Europe next year in any way. If this does not happen (i dont think it will but with recent events, who knows...) then the club is well and truly fukced.

Some Liverpool need to accept that we are on a wave and we could come out of it well or we actually could drown!

Im just thinking positively as we arent the sort of team or club, that has a bad patch and continues to sink further. You say we might not qualify for the top 4 who will nick it if not us - spurs/city they are just as inconsistent as us, but both have good squads.

Its going to be a rollercoaster season.

I agree with Iceman. I really cant see things getting any worse. Remember the start to last season that Spurs had? Eventually quality will shine through. At least thats my theory anyway!

would Gerrard stay if they did finish outside the top 4? he would have given it a good shot at pool and time is ruinning out for him and IMO would not be hated by the fans for making a move.

^ i think yes he would stay, were would he move anyway, spain? Cant see him moving elsewhere or to another prem team. Id go as far to say he quite limitied in his options he may even rather stay at lpool than move to spain. Alot of fans wouldnt like it if he joined another prem team, some would understand.

Well in reality the only premiership team he could relisticall join would be Chelsea. He wouldnt join manure and the rest couldn't afford him. Well City could but that would defeat the object of leaving really, for now!"

I would understand if he left but I would be absolutely gutted.

I reckon he will stay though

13 Games in, we are level on points with Sunderland and 1 point ahead of Stoke...
Id normally agree that things couldnt get much worse but we are about to play Everton at the weekend!

Gerrard will not leave now, not imo anyway.

Change of manager and a **** load of cash spent in January sorted that mess out.

Liverpool are unlikely to sack the manager or shell out for 3 or 4 new players.

yeh i couldnt see gerrard leaving.. like he said, winning a prem medal with any other club than liverpool just wouldnt mean anythin to him..plus, if he is looking to one day manage liverpool, i think a move away, leaving us in the sh1t would seriously rile the fans!
if we won the league one yr, and he decided he wanted 2-3 yrs in spain, i think that would go down much better.. but leavin on, as redman said, the top of a tide which go seriously wrong, would seriously p1ss a lot of pool fans off..

anyway, im not bothered.. im a fiorentina fan now!! :-) lol

I hope we use europa league for our young players to be honest.

And there is zero chance of Torres or reina leaving in the next two years

Their 80/1 to win the game. They may as well be 80000/1. They really are rubbish this season.
