Papa Lazarou And the bankrolled argument was to show clubs could perform much better than you have. Of course it would be great if we were and had the chance to target some decent £20m+ players for the midfield and upfront. Like Fernando Torres, Robbie Keane, Aquilani? You are forgetting that Chelsea were already an established top 4 team before Abramovich came in and bankrolled them. The rise of Manchester City is a completely different story.

Even with the 5 losses - Liverpool will finish above MC Dont really mind City - most of their fans are ok but realistically even with all the money they will never win the Champions League or the Premiership. Liverpool are on the decline but still will be better than any MC side - money or not.

Papa Lazarou Who is most people? You, Caldera and Mac? And why remarkable? Chelski were constantly midtable and look where they are now and have been for years now. Anyway, you support Man Sh1tty so leave LOLerpool alone Most people - generally the bookies make the most accurate assessments and echo public opinion. Liverpool 2nd or 3rd favourites to win the league werent they? With City 5th or 6th favourites? Do your research properly. Gullit and Vialli established Chelsea as a top club before Abramovic bought the club from Kenny Bates. Liverpool will always raise a hearty LOL from me.

Torres is decent as we all know, Aquilani is as of yet unproven and Keane was overpriced (hence Rafa didn't want him but our chairman bringing him in). So one proven £20m player. And lots of crap £5-10m players that prolly werent worth that.

Yet they have gone backwards since winning the ECL.

The sh1tty band wagon will stall before the season ends and 6th place is the best possible outcome. We have a joke in Rafa, sh1tty have a complete p1ss take in Hughes...

We have a joke in Rafa, sh1tty have a complete p1ss take in Hughes... 6th place would be fantastic, a big improvement on last year. Same can not be said for LOLerpool. Lets hope they go through the group stage of the ECL so we can continue to LOL at ROFLs bizarre tinkering.

For the money spent, 6th place is far from acceptable when it is the best possible outcome this year. Rafa will win the league before sh1tty break into the top 4.... I have full faith in Rafa leaving in some way this season so he's never going to win the prem..... You should just be happy to be in the Premiership, lower leagues wasnt that long ago.

If Man City finish top 6 it's great, if they get top 4 it mean champs league and a lot more players prepared to come to them rather than just all the greedy ones, the greedy ones that one champs league football as well. If they then get a great manager, they will be very dangerous next year. People saying you can't buy the premiership and other comps are just talking crap, it happens all the time. If anything it's a lot more surprising when the clubs like arsenal etc actually do win it.

john_cappa makaveli1971 1996 I think it's due the fact certain Liverpool fans thought they were good enough to win the EPL under Benitez, and claimed if Gerrard and Torres played more games this year they could win it. if they did then maybe we could makaveli1971 1996 TBF Benitez has wasted millions over years Can you show who he has wasted millions on? or are you simply listening to sky sports pundits and the daily mail? Well the season so far would prove otherwise 83m with no major trophies is a waste. And the fact that through all the wealing and dealing Benitez has done you only have a couple of decent signings to show for it, again it's poor. Why your trying to hide behind this I'll never know.
If you love something let it go,if it comes back to you it's yours,if it doesn't it never was.

john_cappa And when comparing it to what United have spent in the same period is flawed, as they already had a title winning squad and all the foundations in place. They weren’t rebuilding from scratch like we were. It also doesn’t take into account their massive wage bill. When comparing to Chelsea, they spent all their money before Rafa came to the club and just topping up an already established squad. You can't compare that to United, when Fergie came to the club in 1986,United were far from established ,they didn't have as good as history as LOLerpool,in fact United were in an awful position, now compare that to the team Benitez inherited at LOLerpool. Benitez is failing miserably.
If you love something let it go,if it comes back to you it's yours,if it doesn't it never was.

Benitez blew it when he sold Alonso and Sissoko without really replacing them. He also sold Robbie Keane and replaced him with a player who was injuried for 4 months. He also bought that big Greasy Greek who played for Rangers, he cant jump without pulling players. He is a stick on to give away a penalty.
