 I'd imagine those doing the interviewing and goading him into coming across as "interesting" has possible too  - he obviously has issues , and theses TV crews are expert at getting people to say the "right" things (right for their purposes )

All area's really, one of the parts on media manipulation was going to watch live 'Trisha' shows, then watching them back when they came on TV, we saw first hand how they would make bad guy's out of genuine sound guys.
 
We also played about ourselfs editing out bits with little flash fades (like in that vid) to keep a momentum of bad clip after bad clip.
 
I am not sicking up for EBM, but if someone wanted to do a non-scripted video of him, painting him as a nice, well rounded and emotional man, you could sit him in a room for a few hours, ask him various questions and easily make him a saint

And that, in a nutshell (having done a similar course on media manipulation at uni) is why I no longer really believe anything I read in the papers or see on TV

TBH the black bloke is one hell of a more polite person.  In the post-fight interviews he apologises unreservedly for his actions (we can all act a cnut when drunk) but insists EBM made a racial slur.

That said the actual incident, the white guy was clearly in the right- did everything he could to avoid a fight and retain his dignity.

The racist bitch who videotaped it ought to get something for inciting racial hatred, insight to violence and racist remarks.

And when the black guy returns back down the bus does the white guy not shout deliberately clearly that the last black guy that bothered himhad his ass stomped (cant be bothered watching the clip again for his exact words).

IMO the white guy provoked the black guy deliberately, initially with an insulting request and then later with violent insults (OK the black guy shouts he'll put his foot up his ass a few times, for sure he's not faultless but still.... he was not looking for this confrontation, the white guy was).

but simple fact was, if he hadnt walked all the way down the bus and swung a punch the fight wouldnt have happened!

I think even if you but into the idea that the bearded man did bring up the other guy shining his shoes first, and was responsible for provoking the row and has a habit of doing so - then it's still all just verbal. Even the argument that fearing for your safety and being at risk are true - taking a triup down the bus not once but twice is a major mistake, let alone throwing a punch.

You don't have to be backed into a corner to be able to throw a punch and still claim self defence, but the bearded guy could be a right bully but he still walked away.

Personally i get the impression that the old guy was talking with his mate about getting ready to go to a funeral, the other guy drunkenly misheard him and took it the wrong way, and then both of them were too pigheaded to be able to let it go.

They are two humans no one is all bad or all good,just people in different situations.

It was clear that EBM wasnt a full shilling but i think myself and maybe others wanted him to be just a sad old guy that was a little excentric,but as more info and history came forward the ideal we wanted washed  away to show a very sad and mixed up man.


Its been interesting seeing my own and others trip thru this tale as it has unfolded and changed,still a bit of me likes him even tho he is a goon


We all wanted a dog to have its day,a bully get his just deserts,an OAP fight back,a veteran Hold his own,a guy that walked away be the better man come the fight,like an urban fairy tale stumbled upon and unopened before our eyes,thats whats caught the publics eye,when it turned out to be a drunk and a druggie sluggie it out it lost a bit of magic,but then reality tends to do that a lot

I thought the women who filmed it who made a follow up video "explaining" her actions was mad - she could not go back and cover up her actions in this and now everyone knows what she looks like
