Had an ok session today. Try to get my push press technique better since its more jerks than push presses Ive been doing. 13/2/08 Rack Push Press- 60/5, 80/5, 100/3/3 I then set up a pressing medley with a 120 axel, 100 barbell and 50kg dumbbell with th eplan of doing 1 rep on the axel, 2 on the barbell and then 3 reps on each arm with the dumbbell. The axel cleans were very poor and I think its just because I havent used it for a while; also with starting the cleans so heavy I messed them up. So just ditched that idea. Strict Standing Press- 50/8, 70/5/5 Shrugs- 170/10/10 Bench- 60/8, 90/6, 110/3 Then just finished up by trying to get my technique better for bench press and then also find a good technique for the behind the neck jerks.

Had a pretty piss poor session today, although sort of makes it better considering had a comp last weekend, then the heavy rack pulls on Monday. Was trying the knee wraps today to get used to them for the finals and they were ok, but totally threw me off. 15/2/08 Squats- 60/8/6, 100/5, 140/3, 180/2, 220/2, 200/1 Wraps on the 200 set Karlsen Squats- 60/6, 100/5, 180/3, 260/1/2 Wraps on from the 180 set. Skulls- 30/12, 50/8, 60/10 CG Tricep Circuit- {10 dips; 10 70kg straight bar PDs; 10 50kg rope PDs} DONE TWICE, NO REST Decline Crunches- BW/20/20

Yeah it's hard to get used to them, first time i used wraps when i came up i shot out of the hole like a spring and crashed into the rack. Was pretty funny.

Oh yes the pain , feeling likes someone is scraping a cheese greater down the back on your knee. Once you break them in they will hurt less but after a while you will be getting yourself so pumped up since your gonna be moving a ton of plates you wont be worrying about the pain. Might wanna try wearing sweats or track pants first few times, its just the texture of the wraps that makes them hurt so damn bad.

Had an ok events session today with a tyre flip PB. Just getting back into the way of things with the log press so hopefully the weights will start going up soon enough. 17/2/08 IFSA Log Press- 80/3, 95/1, 105/1, 115/f/1, 120/f/f 430kg Tyre Flip- Failed twice off blocks and floor, then got two singles from the floor making me only the third person to flip it from the floor! PB! 320kg chain arm over arm- 10m/20 seconds, 10m/13.4 seconds Also had a wee mess around with the stones.

Not too bad of a session tonight, went for a 290kg deadlift since my 260 was fast and smooth. I totally overshot the mark though, should have gone to 275 for a double. Getting too obsessed about the 300kg dead by May! Going to do some rep stuff at 270 or 275 next week and then maybe 280 for a single, hopefully a double a couple of weeks later and then see how to take things from there. 18/2/08 Deadlifts- 70/6, 120/3, 170/1, 220/1, 260/1, 290/f/f, 285/f No motivation and too little off the bar with the 285 set. Pulldowns- lv.10/8, lv.13/10/10, lv.15/10 Skulls- 30/12, 50/8, 60/12 CG DB OH Ext- 30/10, {50/8, 35/12 DROP SET} Tricep Circuit- {10 dips; 10 lv.8 straight bar PDs; 10 lv.5 UH straight bar PDs} DONE TWICE, NO REST

Back up home in Aberdeen for the spring break so training at Results. Hack squat/ leg press machine was broken so just did some smith squats, leg ext, calves and then some cardion stuff. 4/4/08 Smith Squat- 50/5, 100/5, 140/3, 180/2, 220/2, 250/1, 260/f Wraps on for the 220 and 250 set, all reps below parallel coming to a stop at the bottom when the bar hit the stops. Felt so much heavier that the cage squat though. I like it! :D Leg Ext- 45/10, 65/10/10/20 Calves- Didnt count the weight, but I reckon around 180kg, two sets of 10 Cardio- 100kg sled drag/60m, 30m

Not updated this for a few days. Heres what Ive been doing: Sunday Events Log Press- 90/3/3, 100/1 Elbows were killing me for some reason, think its because of the wider handles and not being used to them Medley- 70kg anval 10m; 120kg keg 10m [bearhugged for the first set then carried normally for the second]; 130kg farmer 10m; 100kg chain carried 10m and tried to simulate a load with it Monday Gym Log Press- 90/3, 100/3, 110/clean Since the log was crap on Sunday I thought Id give it another go, plus gym was really busy with no space to do jerks. Same happen as Sunday with the elbows and this really affected my pressing for the rest of the workout Incline Smith Press- 60/8, 90/6/6/6 Sled Drag Front Raises- 20/12, 40/12/12/12/12 Tuesday Gym Trained today since Im away for a few days, plent of rest and food before the gym again on Friday Axel Deadlifts- 85/5, 125/5, 165/3, 205/2, 245/1 PB, 265/1 PB SLDL- 140/6/6/6 Pulldowns- 50/8, 70/8, 80/8 Hammer Curls- 20/8, 30/8

You should venture in more often mate! I canhed from doing deads on Monday, press on Wednesday and squats Friday to press, deads, squats on Monday Wednesday and Friday since I felt like my back was getting over worked deading the day after events.

I hear ya, i like the new upper, lower, upper, lower(events). Funnily enough i can't wait until this next comp is done so i can relax for a little bit, grow, and hit some new prs. I want a 6plate squat by the end of summer.

Pretty good session today, think I might have some tendonitis in my elbows so just taking ibuprofen and deep heat/ deep freezeing the joints. 13/4/08 Medley- 70kg Anvil carried 10m and loaded to 46", 120kg carried 10m loaded to 46", 130kg farmer carried 3m[plates fell off the ends], 100kg chain carried 10m and almost loaded to 46" Chain didnt have enough links to get a good grip on it, but the medley at the finals shouldnt really be a problem. Fitness is up a hell of a lot since Feburary! Farmers Holds- 130/5s/20s This tenonitis is really pissing me off. I feel great until i start lifting and then a couple of hours after the session Im great again. Just hope it clears up before the finals, if not its just going to be a case of working through it!
