Not updated this for a good few weeks so here is the low-down on whats been happening.
Been really busy with comps so training has only been deads and squats on two days for the past few weeks.
Did the UKSC SSM on the 19th July, got second behind Andy Cairney and going to Belfast next week for the UKs.
Weekend after that I went upto Orkney to compete where I got 3rd, but happy enough.
Was supposed to do Lee Allans comp in Fife on the 3rd, but after tweaking my knee in orkney I sat it out and just helped out instead.
Training-wise just basic stuff, did 3 days this week which has been the first week in a long time.
Missed a 290k suited deadlift on Monday, got it above the knees but couldnt lock it out, was supposed to be working on this hard over summer but comps etc messed up my plans.
Wednesday was just basic OH stuff, then had probably the best session of summer so far. Heres how it went:
Suited Squats-
60/5, 100/5, 140/5, 180/3, 220/2, 240/2, 180/6, 140/20 Suit bottoms on fron the start with the straps up for the 180 and wraps on for the 220 and 240 setsn. Changed into a pair of power pants in replacement of the suit for the last two sets as last time I went in raw straight after the suit I sank like a stone. 180k set was no belt or wraps just a loose pair of power pants, as was the 140k set, but had to rest pause it as my traps and lower back was cramping a bit.
Leg Press-
220/8, 260/8, 300/8, 350/6, 400/4 Finished with some standing calf raises.
Got events on Sunday and then its resting and eating all week for UKs starting on Saturday.
