One pec bigger then the other, its annoying, can i fix it?

I noticed it months ago but its starting to bug me again and seeing ive now joined this forum i thought id get views from others about it. my right pec is smaller then my left. Its not a major difference but it gets to me as i just want them to both be the same, my left pec has more shape to it, i dont have as much lower pec on my right side.

Its not like i do more exercises which would benefit my left so why has this occured? Is it common to have one slightly bigger then the other? Is there a way to balance it out?

Perhaps like me, the shoulder on the side of the smaller pec is more forward than the other. I avoid front delt work, so i do flyes for chest, OH press with lighter dumbells to I can work my back better, and do rows rather than pulllups. There are also various exercises/stretches that might help that you might find in a search. It's hard though.

Mine are like that and it just gets worse the bigger you get, don't ignore it

I dont think there is much i can do though, maybe when im doing my flat and incline dumbells ill concentrate more on my right side, i can understand my right arm being bigger but i work my chest equally :s

    In short no....
We are not born symetrical like butterflies, we have body parts bigger than the other opposing side.

My right pec has a different shape to the left, the left slightly cuts away more from the sternum also.

Once you add more size its generally not noticed unless you are looking for it

There's lot's of causes. One being, like someone above alluded to, is that one shoulder could be more flexible than the other. This causes one shoulder to pivot more at the joint ergo puttting more stress on the pec. The other shoulder may not need stabilsiing as much and thus all the work comes from the delt and the tricep. As you say, you excercise the chest equally yet they are growing at different rates, this suggest to me there is something wrong with your mechanics as it were. Your spine could be twisted slightly, your form could be bad, it could be your shoulder flexibility. It could be a number of things, but to think it will just sort itself out is boll0cks IMO

Isn't it purely because the OP has stronger triceps etc on the weak pec side, so they do more of the work when benching. I'm exactly the same, my right side is stronger so pec takes up less of the load.

I dont know, your point does make sense. Its my lower part of my right pec, nothing there compared to my left, the inner/upper part is fine. Ive changed my chest routine around, put dips in there so will see if it makes any difference

Yeah symmetry is very hard to nail. If I do leg work using both quads (or hams) I naturally compensate the left leg with my right. When my legs are flexed, the difference is noticeable so I've started doing a lot more things single legged.

Post a pic straight on, relaxed from noseline down to hips and this will give us some kind of clue. Other than that is is all just guesses.

My bet wuld be one shoulder higher than the other (poss trap activation) or slight shoulder issue.

no offence but stop with the silly post and being over paranoid

reassess once you have some bulk

note we are all made different and no one is perfect

i have a pec that is missing an inch of muscle in the middle wherre they join, not much i can do about it

Ok cool, also should i take creatine or is it too early for that? Should i just include legs in my workout and eat like a horse and then i should see some decent results because i havent been doing either of them as of now. Adding legs and eating lots more should make a big difference right compared to just working hard? Obviously im not expecting results over night but including them 2 things i think is what ive been missing. Im new to all this, so still learning the basics.

the basics are food and food and food

plus train hard several times a week and ensure rest and recover

creatine may help so it is up to you but not as important as the food

6 meals a day, constant eat till hard to keep down

slowly attempt to lift more than you could

i recommend drop sets to help gain more strength

    and yes do all body

    Why?

The guy is a beginner, surely just focus on linear progression on the big lifts with straight sets. Drop sets will only add unneccessary complication.

As for creatine, it may help and it may not. Personally I don't notice anything from creatine. Just don't expect a major difference from using it. The key is to make sure you're doing plenty of NOM NOM NOM

    3x5 incline press
    3x5 shoulder press
    3x5 dips
    3x5 skull crushers

    Back/biceps

    3x5 deadlifts
    3x5 bent over row
    3x5 single arm row
    3x5 barbell curl
