Pacquiao Vs Clottey
14 March 2010 08:51
( permalink)
Anyone watch it? I had £20 on Clottey just for the odds. Completely one sided fight....I thought Clottey would do a bit more than he did but it does appear that he turned up for the cash. Many are saying that once again Manny has beaten a true WW with ease and will dominate Floyd! I can't see that, Floyd isn't just gonna stand there all night.

Yeah, very one sided but I would love to see Manny fight Floyd. Although, I do think Floyd would win, I do wonder how Floyd would cope with the sheer volume of punches being throw at him.

IMO, yeah mate, if only to watch Manny's pace, footwork and work rate...plus he takes a couple of good blows to which Clottey should have followed up but just clammed up again

What did you make of the undercard Neb? Diaz is limited IMO and we all knew Castillo was finished, now he must know it as well. Its a shame as these Mexican fighters must desperately need the money.

Pacquiao is so fast. Insane speed. It's so risky to comit to catch and counter when there is another powerful shot a mili-second behind the last one. Mayweather is the man to do it, I still think. Mosley and Pacquiao would be epic as well.

Stayed up and watched it and glad i did. I actually enjoyed it. I did get a bit frustrating as if clottey had thrown more punches he could have made it a lot closer, but thats easy to say. It was pretty clear to people who know boxing that clottey wasn't going to be knocked out, but i didnt expect him to be as defensive as he was. Landed a fair few solid right hands and uppercuts which did cause pac a bit of trouble, but never 'went in for the kill' when he packed pac up. Anyone know the punch stats? Undercard was fairly poor. John Duddy fight was the best of the lot.

I know Pacquiao threw 832 more shots than Clottey did lol. I wasn't sure if Pacquaio was troubled by the uppercuts - which were nice, eye-catching shots - or not instantly throwing back, hoping Clottey would be encouraged to be more offensive and open up more. Clottey just couldn't live with the speed and sheer mass of hard shots coming his way. Perhaps should have been a little more offensive late on, but he would prob have got KTFO.

Clottey was a joke, he was content to just try and survive from round 1. Pathetic waste of a once in a life time oppurtunity. The fact that was on PPV in the US is ridiculous, no wonder the UFC is stealing a march on Boxing.

Tim Bradleys going up to 147 in his next fight against luis carlos Abregu (29-0-25KO,s). Looks like he may be trying to get into the bigtime mix? The Pac fight went pritty much as I expected and it was more an exhibition fight to tide pac over IMO.

I really enjoyed the fight your watching a man top of his game the way he moves, throws clusters of punches with amazing speed, always looking for angles, and such a nice guy!!

No mate, lol. May just has that edge on defence and speed. If the fight comes off I would back may to win on points.
