No....I know he was in a mess but the way he was back peddling for the previous rounds, he could well have lasted another 2 mins. The punch that had the ref stop the fight wasn't as hard as he'd took previously.
 
IMO the fight should have been stopped in round 9, as it wasn't, I felt the ref could've at least held fire for a bit longer.
 
Having said that, Manny was gonna go for the KO in the 12th so I guess the ref nipped it in the bud

Just watched the fight. The Pac Man is immense, carries his speed and his power up the weights and schooled Cotto.

Pac is unreal.. his speed and power at the heaviuer weight is still there, his tactics were bang on.. some of his combinations were sick!!
fantastic boxin match.. Cotto showed some real balls too, but was just outclassed on the night unfortunately for him..

Cotto is a class fighter yes, but can he box off the back foot like May?

No. I think May will be confident about his chances after watching that fight.

Cotto, whilst maybe not the fighter he was, still has a career out there and would beat nearly all of the current welterweight crop.

I gotta be honest I wasnt expecting that. I personally thought that Pacquiao hadn't been tested in his last two fights and Cotto would be a different stroy. I was very wrong, Pacquiao was amazing, he was (imo) as close to the perfect boxer as you can get. Aggresive in the ring, accurate, powerful, technically flawless, fast as **** with an offensive defence which works so well with that hand speed.

I agree it should have been stopped in the 9/10th, but as the ref let it go on, he shouldn't have stopped it in the 12th.

Mayweather has to fight Pacquiao now. If he ducks him then he's a joke. I do think Mayweather has a chance as his style could really undo Pacquiao's aggresive style. However, I think Mayweather is going to demand more money so he doesnt have to fight him.

As for Cotto I think he should fight Margarito and kill him, then retire.

Margarito is still suspended though so he'll have to wait a while for that fight

v,impressed with pacman i knew he was quick thats obvious but seemed so much stronger than cotto which i didnt expect. 

i think ref should have let it run its course cotto was still firing back some decent shots!

i think if paman carries this form and improvment we've seen in every fight then he could  beat mayweather!

mayweather if hes worth anything needs to man up and fight him, or for me his legacy will be tainted!
