Painful lump in upper back/ trapezius

Hi folks,

Got a small lump/ knot at the upper right of my back which sits on my trapezius. I can feel it if i dig my fingers in, and when i massage it I do get relief from pain for a short while.

Would deep tissue massage get rid of it? and do you know what causes this?

Many thanks

Mate this really isnt a question for someone who cant see you and assess you. I would strongly recommend you find a good professional who can take a look.
It could be something as simple as scar tissue or muscle spasm that manual therapy can help but there are numerous other things it could be as well so I should get them ruled out first and foremost

Trigger point acupuncture is another option worth thinking about if it is a muscular injury, which it sounds like it may be. But getting checked by someone who can see it is the first step!

Stick a tennis ball in it and see if it relieves it, if you faint, best go see someone

N.B - The above advice is probably more sensible.

Same company, moved around a bit, got some AQP work starting next week which is cool and generating some private patients more than previously which is decent, anything to break the medicolegal grind these days, whiplash zzzzz a student could do it in their sleep!
