Peagreen 2012 SUC - Final Pics Pg3 09 January 2012 16:06 (permalink)
I have been a bit busy to get back on to edit this.

Goals:  To gain lean mass while cutting the bodyfat - a tall order I guess but we shall see.
I intended to bulk until I was 110K last year, I got to 108 and made a decision that I had gained too much bodyfat as a holiday messed me up slightly.  So dieted back down to 99, which at the end of August / September.  Then November I started bulking again and just before Christmas was swinging between 106 and 108.  Christmas came and I ate the obligatory crap and I weighed in this morning at 104/105kg.

I am toying with competing in May in the UKBFF Scotland but we shall see if my body says otherwise, as it so often does.  Having never done it, I want to see where I sit at the end of February as to whether I need to adjust and hunker down properly.  Part of me wants to step on stage to at least say I have done it and before I turn into a Senior, would be nice to show the whipper snappers what us old folk can do

For the record, as I had a PM asking me - I am 6' 1", which is far too tall really to look good on stage, especially with such long arms and levers.

Bloody hell you've got some serious strength going on there.  Shred that up and you'll be a beast.  Awesome shoulders mate.

I think you've got the wrong end of the stick here, you're meant to post the pics of you looking awesome at the END of the challenge not the start! :-D

Seriously though you're starting from a great position mate and I know you'll reach your goals whatever you're going for, but good luck anyway!

To be honest I'm not sure why I stepped up, I'm not really in it for the winning.  I like to use the SUC as a motivator and to spur me on as much as anything but thanks for the compliments.

Thank you for the shoulders comments, I have been trying to build them up all year as I was told my chest and especially my back overpowered my shoulders and biceps, which I have really fought hard to bring up over the last year.  So a simple comment really helps

Thanks, I pondered long and hard over my underware choice as so much of it is unfit for MT viewing although the ladies like it.  My Christmas undercrackers are stuff of legend from a few years ago - to be fair it doesn't need enhancing (much...)

Nice one P - shoulder balance has continued to improve, good stuff!
Thanks TB - it has been hard graft this year on so many levels.  Going down the Biomechanics route has at times really screwed with my head as but as you can see, really has made a difference to my symmetry and shape.  I still have to conscious of the way I stand to a certain extent because it very easy for me to unconsciously drop my shoulder, I think that is more habit.  One I guess will take a long while to overcome.

Good question - as a few have asked above, can I say I am attempting build some mass while cutting at the same time.  I can do it but I seriously have to up my anti on many levels, because I believe the dieting, or at least changing it, interferes with my thyroid condition.  Fatigue really becomes an issue.  I've shaken things up this week, taking it slowly but have found it really hard to lift heavy this week but that was to be expected, so this was my easing in week.  Hopefully I'll be back to normal next week.

                                  awesome build
Thanks Aaron, very much appreciated coming from you.  Other than the SUC I don't post many pics but as I don't lift with anyone or have anyone to assess my progress it is really difficult to work out where you stand.  You look in the mirror and your mind tells you such different things, its a bit of a head **** sometimes.

I think it was when I stood next to Papa after the Bedford show I suddenly realised I was actually bigger than I thought.

Thanks for the support to everyone, I don't tend to post much in these things as I just crack on with it for better or worse.

Good luck to all who have entered, which looking through seems like a lot, is it more than normal?  I was going to compile everyone but there are far too many.  I'll pop in occasionally to see how everyone is doing.

Just saw your post - I don't really see what getting my training up achieves other than to spend even longer at my computer than I already do and its not something I ever refer back too, so a bit useless for myself

To make this not such a pointless post I achieved two PBs this week, which went something like this:

                                        Bench:  60 x10, 100 x10, 110 x10, 120 x8, 130 x4, 140 x2 and 145 x1 [I wanted to try for 150 but there was not another soul in the gym I'd have trusted to spot me]

                                        Shoulder Dumbbell Press: 26 x10 (x2), 30 x10 (x2), 34 x8 (x2), 38 x4 (x2)
