rightyho Why do people use Facebook? I mean, of what benefit is it? Is it just for people who dont have friends in the real world? Look, some random stranger from Poland just added me. How does this improve your lot? It's great for networking for things like, well, example above! You can find out about events, plus chat to like minded people who you choose to accept as a 'friend'.

Like MT then? Only with one page and no forums? Not being funny, I really don't get facebook etc - probably because I have a 1960s birth date to be fair.

It's a great tool for potential employers to check you out though and find reasons not to give you a job.

rightyho Why do people use Facebook? I mean, of what benefit is it? Is it just for people who dont have friends in the real world? Nope, I don't add or accept friend requests from anyone who isn't a real friend of mine (ie. in real life). It's just a handy way of keeping in contact with people you wouldn't see that often. And also good for sharing photos of nights out with your mates etc.

they cant check u out tho unless they're ur 'friend'.. i see what u mean, but its far better than email, and not everyone who is like minded, has to be like minded with regards to training.. can be other stuff too, saves having to join tens of forums as its all in one platform

I agree, this is why they give you the option to be private (a bit like being Ex Directory int he phone book) Only the people you want to be friends with need know your facebook, simples

Not really as anyone with a pinch of common sense has there profile set to private so that only friends can see it. *doh just realised otto beat me too it*

Come on Righty, the reasons for Facebook are pretty obvious! How would you show off the amazing pictures you took of yourself pouting in the toilets without FB? Also you can do loads of things on it, like keep in touch with your friends, and find out about events, neither of which were possible before FB And of course it is how you meet women, did you know that until recently most procreation was arranged by the government and done artificially? Social networking sites are essential! (Just having a laugh, good luck to the MT Facebook page lol)
