Portion size ?? 10 February 2012 12:20 (permalink)
Hi
Could someone tell me what size portion off carbs is good to have with each meal when trying to cut down body fat ?
If you should eat carbs at a certain time ?
I no everyone is different but how many carbs and protein should you eat roughly ?

Thanks for any advice

You can't just pluck a figure out of thin air.  There are so many different variables including what exercise you do and when, your job, your height, weight, age, sex.

If you want advice, post up your typical diet and we'll go from there.

      i weigh 15stone 11
i do groundworks but works slow at the minute!!
i do pha training 3 days a week and boxing sparring 1 day a week.
i used to do boxing but stopped 2 years ago got very fat went from 13.5 stone to 17.08 stone
i think i been eating healthy since a week before xmas and started keeping a diary 2 weeks ago
so this is depending on days i work and stuff hence the different times i am eating.........
between 6:30 and 8:30 poached egg whites 3, 2 slice brown bread or porridge with protein shake or weetabix
about 10:00 i have protein shake or 25 g pennut butter 1 slice brown bread
between 12 and 2:00 90g brown rice tinned tuna or 100g brocali and a chicken breast or ommeltte
between 4:30 and 5:30 100g brocali 100g sweet potatoe mashed 2 salmon filletts or with turkey breast, sirloin steak, chicken breast
then low carb protein shake after training
i train at 2:30pm days im not working and 7:00pm days i am working and sat or sun morning around 8am
i take flaxseed oil and cod liver oil
so i consume between 60 and 90 carbs a day between 150 and 200 protein and between 1600 and 2000 kcal
this is all from my own working out and im new to all this stuff!

ok, so you want to lose fat and gain muscle...?

Your diet is ok, but you should vary food chocies from day to day. Include more veg too.  Also, include some cardio exercise.

Follow the diet and report back with results in a couple of weeks; we can then see how you're getting on

Exercise - hard work - will help reduce fat in that area
