Prepping the weeks meals all in one day 26 January 2012 14:43 (permalink)
Gonna start cooking my meals for work all on a monday afternoon instead of every evening, will be doing 4 nights worth (mon-thurs).
Just wondered how long chicken & mince are ok for when cooked and put in the fridge in an airtight container? If i cook them monday will they still be ok at midnight thursday or shall i freeze?

      I agree with Jack

I cook all my meals on sunday evening (chicken and mince) - mine last till around friday

Been doing for 18months and had no adverse effects

I cook rice the night before

I have a cook-off on a sunday for meals that can sometimes see me thru til Friday. Burgers, turkey....

Is the frozen mince any good or shall i just stick to fresh lean mince?

Definitely stick with the fresh mince, frozen stuff is usually more fatty!!

As for storing the meals for long periods make it stays in the fridge plus if possible make sure you have air tight containers
