Cheapest and the best source of protein is Lamb Liver,
more superior to chicken, turkey etc with 30g of protein per 100grams and £1 will get you 500gram pack - 150grams of protein for a £1 packed with essential B vitamins.
Sainsburys New Zealand lamb liver is what i get, brilliant for dieting when your not feeling to squeamish, lol. chuck some onions and mint sauce in you wouldn't know what it was.

I usually just steam chicken/turkey breast.

Would be interested in trying this. How do you cook up this BAMF? (bad ass mother f**ker) :D

I love doing stuff hardcore. So i shall fry it! haha. thanks for the tips.

Btw, are there any Cons to using liver? I mean, there must be a reason why most BB use chicken/turkey breast or lean beef, instead of using liver. I've only ever known poultry breast and beef :3

Nope, no cons to using Liver, by all means look it up, look at nature predators in the wild like lions etc eat organs meats by priority and leave the muscle meat for the voulchers lol cave men would eat organ meats and give muscle meat to the dogs!!

I knew many 80's pro's who drank blended liver, and minamino, an amino acid drink from liver, splean etc.

Liver is far superior, it has folic acid, B vitamins aswel as 30grams of protein per 100grams, and is cheapest form of protein, whats the catch you ask........ its F@#king Liver!!! lol

No mate i make seitan with it. I make it into sausage, pepperoni, steaklets, ground beef style. I even use it in protein pancakes as a flour replacer. Its quite versatile, fat free and low carb too.

It doesn’t look particularly appetising! Does this stuff taste ok??

I've done a little price research looking at some common protein sources (Quark, meats, Soya mince) and graphed them. This graph was mainly for my use, but thought sharing it will help you guys save some cash and help vary your protein intake.

Protein prices have increased significantly since i made my last graph, suprised by some items!

Soya mince & Tuna being the cheapest, forgot about eggs & cottage cheese.

ASDA Smartprice Natural Low Fat Cottage Cheese (200g) = 77p/50g protein serving. Flavours will increase price significantly!
                      Eggs(10p per egg average basics/caged range) = 55g/egg   about 80p for 50g assuming whole thing eaten(yolk too)

                      Direct link http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/7215/priceofprotein.jpg

Itll do for now till i finish allprotien sources

hi i have in my hand said brand of cottage cheese

                      nutritional info reads

                      per 100g  protein  10.1g
                                      carbs        8.4g
                                      fat             5.0g

so for the whole tub of 250g if my maths skills are ok

                      protein becomes 25g  not 50g

if i could buy 50g of protein for 77p id never buy shakes again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just a little heavy on the cholesterol with the lambs liver

There's no link between dietary cholesterol and cholesterol in the blood.

                              Liver's the bomb!

seems I should have read the ingredients properly then, they are normally twice the price, and normally only grab one if I forget my shake

I dont mind the artiifical flavours, but the hydrogenated fats are a concern :(

                                thanks for pointing out!
