Nice graph... as the price goes up so does the taste of the products :)

Nice man, helpful! Found me sardines in Asda, in tomato sauce with 27g of protein per tin at 44p a tin, so it's something like 80p for 50g of protein... Slightly (But not much) cheaper than the tuna! :D

as much as good protein is the vegetable one, for humans i think animal proteins are the best! this is our nature!

I've heard that the price of protein is increasing. I thought it was just whey protein sports supplements. It's crazy to think that it's protein across the board that is increasing in price.
I think these are the best protein shakes.

So if I popped down to tesco or sainsburys what would good protein deals at the moment be? (apart from tuna which has possibly more than doubled in last 3 years)
protein certainly not cheap these days

I am sure somebody must of mentioned it but I can't see it.

We have a special offer on our gourmet chicken breasts: 20kg for just £99 (you can buy smaller quantities too).

Saw a Morrissons offer the other day which was a 3kg joint of gammon for £6.

£2 a kilo is pretty good, though obviously being cured it'll have higher salt content

2kg of frozen white fish fillets - may have been basa fillets. Can't remember.

                          In farm foods.

Also had 3 x 1kg packs of pork loin steaks for a tenner.

Farmfoods is having an offer on their frozen chicken breasts. 3 x 1kg packs for £10. Think there might be six breasts to a pack, not bad!

                                    very impresive.

personally i find going to a local butcher and buying bulk boxes like 5kg fresh chicken fillets for £22 to be of far better quality to eat and cook with. find that supermarket meat has often got hidden ingredients, and their prices are rarely special offers, ready the small writing and look at the price per KG.
i recommend getting friendly with a quality local butcher, theyll help you with everything.
and i hate giving supermarkets ££££

Worth taking a look at Blackburn Distributions they offer cost effective options for bulk price protein, I think it's something like £35 for 2kg.
