Question for all Martial Art instructors

Hi all, just after your ideas and comments, I am wanting to get a Unit having some cardio and weights equipment with a grappling area that is fenced in with punch bags etc. now, i am currently trying to work out if it would be possible to Hire out the grappling area to instructors to run there classes from... simple enough?? hang on..... :) I want gym members to be £35 standing order... they can use weights etc and also can attend any classes included in the £35. The instructors who are hiring the room can advertise and charge non members for sessions (say £5 a session). Can any of you share with me your thoughts and ideas.. could there be a better way... would you be up for this method if the room fee was £10 an hour.. they can use the MMA fencing/walls, punch bags, ground and pound bags, timer etc etc. Obviously by hiring out the area, it is bringing an income in for the gym and also meaning I wouldnt have to pay the instructors... but would they be fed up with teaching the gym members who are potensially training with them for free??? Hope someone can help... Cheers :)

I think you need to build a reputation first. To just suddenly spring up out of no-where, is probably financially fatal... Team Koaban have a very successful set up, as per your ideas, but it is set in Liverpool where the Market is huge, BUT also have a large history over the years... Do your market research first... Where are you based, what is the population of the 18-35 demographic like? etc...
My little brother's still getting into trouble... He's still overwhelmed with the world sometimes...

The gym where i instruct charge a monthly gym fee plus an extra £10 if they want to do the classes.. if not they pay £4.50 per class (that£4.50 is also for people who are not gym members but do classes only) The classes last for 1 hour and the instructors are paid £20.00 for the hour.(the more in the class the better for the gym owner) This may be of some use to you , good luck
