Quick diet critique please? 17 January 2012 10:00 (permalink)
Hi,

Currently looking to regain some of the size that I lost over past 2 years to injury. (waited year and half for surgery on shoulder). Lost about a stone of muscle id guess.

Going away in april though and so looking to try and get decently lean aswell.

I no these are pretty much conflicting goals but I figure if I eat healthy + quite a lot and gym it 5-6 times a week, with muscle memory from before im hoping I’l at least get in some decent shape.

Weights :- Mon, Wed Fri,                     Cardio:- Tue, Thurs, (sometimes Sunday too)
                                                                                    3.25 miles (35-40 mins)

Diet:-

Weights day:-

8am      wholemeal toast + shake

11am    shake + handful peanuts + banana

1:45pm tuna jacket potato with salad (or similar)

4:30pm shake + handful peanuts

7:15     Meat or fish + potato and veg (or similar)

8          Gym

10        Post work-out shake

Cardio Days:-

9:30am   shake + handful peanuts + banana

12:30     tuna jacket potato with salad (or similar)

15:00     shake + handful peanuts

5:30       Run (near empty stomache – similar to AM cardio?)

6:30       Meat or fish + potato and veg (or similar)

10        Shake

If I had to critique myself id say ive got too many shakes. Possibly could replace afternoon one with small tuna pasta or something. Possibly eggs on toast in the morning. However work in an office and don’t want everyone to hate me due to smells etc and also struggle to get up as it is!

Does this seem like a decent plan?

Thanks for any help

Whats in your shakes? What weight are you? Whats your target weight? How much protein, fats and carbs are you getting from that diet?

I weigh about 83kg atm. Not in as good shape as before though, more fat, less muscle. My short term goal (by the time I go away in april) would be to stay the same maybe/maybe go up to 85kg odd but with more muscle and less fat.

Rough totals ive come to :-

Total on gym days   cals         protein    carbs        fat
      Total 2518 200 378 94
Total on run days   cals         protein    carbs        fat
      Total 2271 175 277 83
      Age :- 19
      Height :- 5ft 10
      Weight :- 90kgs

Sorry somehow messed my totals up – think this is more accurate.

Total on gym days   cals         protein    carbs        fat

        Total                     2424        212.4       133.8      108

Total on run days   cals         protein    carbs        fat

        Total                      2152      182     116.6          98

Does this seem like pretty good nutrition to I guess sort of lean bulk (more lean)?
