Reflex over PHD?
31 January 2012 19:12
( permalink)
Hi. Using Reflex at the mo. “One Stop Extreme” for post w/o and Reflex Micellar Casein before bed. Thinking of a change maybe PHD Synergy, can anybody recommend PHD synergy over Reflex one stop? Not sure this is true but a supplement shop told me PHD had a big recall because one of their products had been tested and found to be problems with the protein or something like that? Not sure what to try now?????

Longstory short... PHD underdosed there orginal whey protein product a good few months ago, it has since..been reformulated/repackaged under the "HT" or something name tag. As this was there bog standard whey, wouldnt suprise me if there Diet Whey, Synergy and any other protein type products were also affected. Reflex are a solid company, id reccomend sticking with them mate

I never heard of the recall. Not defending Phd at all here but when you sub contract out the blending that is an extra variable. I think I would be correct in saying that the standard wpc80 from a dairy could vary by as much as 3%. Now usually this would not happen but the dairies cover themselves by having a lowish dry basis min and always exceeding this but by what percentage. Both are good co's. I cannot comment on the potency as I simply do not know.

Reflex is a legitimate brand who test their products and with a consistent reputation of excellence Really, to even put this up for debate sounds like an early April Fool's joke.

Are both brands for sale in Tesco? I believe I saw Phd in a tesco's and afaik tesco have testing protocol in place for every brand they stock. In house testing is great - Independent testing would be even better. None of this impacts me I don't use either brand nor have an interest in either. Call me the Devil's Advocate here!

I was referencing Reflex and their in-house testing.

Fair point. I do think that Tesco use Foodtest laboratory for testing. I am not certain but I do think brands stocked must verify their products before being stocked.
