My local indian do a chicken Tikka Sandwich. Which is chicken tikka breast pieces, salad and chilli sauce in a pitta bread. Most indian places do them now they are usually under kebabs on the menu. Very nice.

kitty Most restaurants can cater for a clean diet, it's all a case of what you choose to eat when you go. If you're dieting then I'd suggest not even looking at the menu if you're easily tempted. I usually have grilled salmon and baked potato with veg or salad. Most will have some form of white fish, steak, or roast chicken, just ask for them to be served without sauce. Theres a thought someone should open a Bodybuilders dieting resturant, then we could all diet be happy and go out for food and we're being good hahaha!!. Yes im the same even when not dieting I have most things without sauce etc.. it must be a BB thing hehehe xxxx

On the off chance anyone finds themself in Dubai I second wagamama's good choice and several places around the city. The Meat Company also great for steaks If you find yourself here on a friday most of the major hotels to a "brunch" these usually run from 12-4pm and most have the option of with or without alcohol included in the price. Some of the food at the brunches is fantastic, fresh cooked steak, poultry, fish loads of choice of rice, potatoes, pasta etc. In the evening there is a place called the Towers Rotana that has theme nights every night with all you can eat and great food and a hotel called the Shan Gra La does and evening brunch on a Friday with everything from sushi to grilled quail, can't go wrong really. Typing that has made me realise i should eat out more lol

Any good middle eastern resturant will give you everything you need. Nice and clean diet stuff (sheesh taoouk - grilled chicken breast) or all feast. We've just found an awesome one in Cheethamhill in Manchester, the food is fantastic!

Frankie and Benny's is ok. Can't recall the steaks being too great. Best places i've been to- Gaucho Grill Manchester- Fantastic steaks La Cabreras (Sp?)- Argentina. 1kg of pure steak heaven. Best steak i've had by a mile, even served champagne when waiting for a table. Place I really want to try- Nobu in London, purely for the Wagyu beef, expensive but I like to treat myself :)

Well having had a brief look down some of the replies here, I'm shocked that so many of you have mentioned Harvester and Nandos. They serve utter dog tripe. You have to be careful of steak houses that smother their cuts with butter to give it that glazed look. Also, those of you that have mentioned KFC & McDs and thai/curry houses etc. I assume you're joking right? Ditto Pizza? Look, I know food & restaurants outside of london are a joke (spend many weekends in hastings & eastbourne unfortunately) and getting decent food anyway is a struggle, but there HAVE to be better optios than the places you've mentioned. I think one of the main things keeping from moving out of London (apart from millions of young women) is the paucity of restaurants and the general obliviousness displayed towards having a healthy diet and quality food. It's all about drinking ten pints of lager a night and then having a £2.50 cooked breakfast at Whetherspoons. The only place I can get a sandwich without a ton of Anchor butter in it, is M&S :-( Anyway, I'm blissfully happy with all the sushi/lebanese/persian/moroccan joints around town. plenty of decent steakhouses too. Best place is whole foods markets in high street ken, which is heaven! Rgds, A very spoilt DT

Bodybuilder589 how about mcdonalds but all plain food...lol i work there.. so its free To be honest people give McDonalds such a hard time but the food there isn't THAT bad (if you pick wisely). They offer a range of salads (which aren't great but I've eaten worse), sandwiches, fruit and even milk at a push. Not saying that I'd eat there everyday, but if I was struggling for a meal, it wouldn't hurt.

I've found that eating in indian restaurants helps me to bulk up immensely. I have an indian every night, always at least vindaloo strength. Your body keeps the protein but S**ts out all the carbs. I have take away indians sunday through to thursday then friday and saturday go to any local indian restaurants. I noticed the results within a week.

Best place is whole foods markets in high street ken, which is heaven! Rgds, A very spoilt DT There has to be one positive to living in London, so none of us will begrudge you your Lebanese joints. Have you visited many other cities? You come across as awfully patronising. I live in Belfast; we have great markets, and all the ethnic food you could wish for. Doubtless there are fewer restaurants, but there's enough that we could choose, say, Lebanese, then decide which one to go to. I can only imagine most other cities in the UK are the same. For what it's worth, I'm with you on Harvesters, Weatherspoons et al. I lived in Bournemouth for a few months, and one of the things I just hated about England was those chain pub type places. We have Weatherspoons, but Harvesters and the like really takes 'depressing' to a whole new level. The other thing was motorway services; I don't think I'll need to defend my position to anyone ;)
