Ripped Hands: Pretty urgent, Advice please 12 January 2012 18:41 (permalink)
Alright guys,

I have an issue, training tonight and ive torn some callusces off. Flappy skin so ive cut that away now im just left with bloody tissue underneath. third callusce on right hand and left is just a blood blister so not that much of an issue. The thing is im meant to be in a full power comp on sunday. Any advice on dealing with the problem? Obviously people still lift with torn hands etc but im just wondering how they do manage this.

Thanks in advance,

Jim

Ahh damn, thats a decent short term fix then? as obviously post comp that skin would need to come off to heal up? I shall remember that for next time though so thanks

putting it in warm salt water is ment to help healing.

Surgical spirit in the open wound also helps healing. Stings a bit though!
          Good luck.

I have done a few and to be honest, I didn't find it affected the deadlift one bit whilst actually lifting it. The lifts will maybe mess your hand up more but in my own experiences I once you commit to the bar then didn't actually feel anything.
