Running Every morning

wanted to start running every morning before work whats a good distance/length to run if doing everyday to lose the maximum fat? I want to be able to make this my only exercise of the day as I have a long commute and don't arrive home till late in the evenings, although my weekends include an hour of 5aside football

I belive, from reading on here, 40mins to 1 hour first thing (before eating) is best. You will need to keep your heart rate up during that time and keep it at a steady pace? Alternativly you could try HIIT for a much shorter period of time. Hopfully this information is correct, i am still learning myself.
Day 21 of not smoking. 3 Weeks!

I would say as long as you can go really. Try and up it each week as you go. One thing though, will you be road running and have you had your gait checked and bought proper running shoes? Are you also open to alternative exercises apart from running?

If it's on an empty stomach then I don't think you'd want to go for too long when your body is in a catabolic state. I have no idea what 'too long' is though. Though if you want to maximise fat loss you might be better off doing Weights and a short HIIT session: http://www.mindandmuscl...nont/fat-loss?page=0%2C0

Fwiw, I would forget HIIT training outside of very specific needs. For the most part I think it is the most overrated fad in bodybuilding.

PredatorNutrition Fwiw, I would forget HIIT training outside of very specific needs. For the most part I think it is the most overrated fad in bodybuilding. In bodybuilding maybe but HIIT training if done correctly is very very good for improving cardio, i used to swear by it when i was boxing. If your going to do HIIT training you shouldn't do it every day, 2/3 days a week would be more than enough combined with 2/3 days normal cardio. I used to do HIIT 3x a week with 2 mid distance runs. My HIIT was basically a mile & half run (and i mean run) then about 30 secs walk, then i would sprint every other lamppost, running backwards when not sprinting. I'd do that for about another mile. Used to kill me but my fitness levels went through the roof. Non HIIT days I would usually do a steady 6mile

Disagree because: 1) It improves fitness 2) It's time economical - most of us can't spare 60 mins for cardio, but can spare 20 mins 3) This is the weight loss forum and not just for bodybuilders 4) It does help speed lipolysis
