ORIGINAL: samcim Also I supplemet with 3000 mg of fish oil a day mate, 2 in th AM and 1 for bed. I would increase this to 10 caps a day (10g) and take two with your first five meals, or something along those lines. Fish oil added to a meal reduces the insulin response to the food, which is a good thing (the same goes for lemon juice and vinegar as well in the right quantities).

Right, cheers mate. I will. so 3 whole eggs scrambled with some olive oil on a slice of burgen bread. So a smootie with an apple bear, blue berries and pinapple wont affect insulin?> Cheers!

Well, I can't say that for sure, but we have removed a particular combination of food which makes you go hypo (oats, milk, whey) and we've replaced it with whole eggs and a slice of burgen bread - on paper the new meal should NOT elicit as much of an insulin response as the first. But if one slice of bread makes you crash, you got problems! lol. But you can only try it and see. As for the smoothie, I'm not sure. Fruit generally doesn't mess up your insulin levels unless you're obese and really have awful insulin sensitivity. On the other hand, it is blended fruit which will digest more quickly than whole fruit, and I don't know the carb count in it.. if you're getting like 75-100g of carbs from the fruit then yeah, that would be problematic. Again, you must experiment. If you REALLY want to play it safe, have your eggs and bread, and have a piece of whole fruit with it (apple, pear, some berries - no grapes/bananas) and try it that way. Then gradually add carbs to this meal if you want more fruit, either blended or whole.. you really have to try it and see.

ORIGINAL: samcim Pulled my neck in bed the other night, couldnt go into work today, and no gym tonight I recon Really hurts the left part of my head at the base. Ouch!! You have my sympathy regarding the pulled neck mate, I do this quite often myself - put my body through hell in the gym and dojo then go and pul**** whilst tucked up in bed of all places enjoying some kip lol I always find mine tends to last for a few days and as long as I don't force it or try to stretch it out it goes of it's own accord, bloody painful whilst it lasts tho, makes driving pretty hellish too. Anyhow apart from the pulled neck I've just had a quick read through your journal and I have to say, some impressive stuff here mate - certainly some fantastic progress evident from your pics however given your work ethic and the effort / prep you put into training, diet etc I'm really not surprised. Definitely a contender for a top place in the comp, keep it up!! Osagi

Thanks Osagi. Much appreciated! My neck is slighty better today, been giving it some hot treatment and taking ibroprufen. Still cant turn it properly. No work today again! Man I need routine, its doing my head in. Wanna start jogging again too, really enjoying it atm. Holding a bit of water due to a bit of crap Ive been eating the last 2 days. Going to sort it all out today with the eating and get back on track. Going to "walk" the dog later no running yet hehe. Need to start doing something. Been sat in like a lemon for 2 days and its driving me crazy!
