Nice, quarter ton shrugs are not to be sniffed at! Is that with straps or without?

With straps. Iv got a good mixed grip but DOH is difficult when the big weights come out for shrugs and the like! I only use them for Shrugs and DB Rows the rest is just chalk and pure squeezing mixed just isnt right when shrugging, iv tried but its not for me. Do you ever use them or do you try and steer clear?

I've never touched a strap in my life mate, then again I'm not lifting the same poundages as you, which are pretty impressive btw. As a matter of fact, think I'll load a barbell up with 200kg or so and if I can get that off the pins I'll add 10kg or so on and try that, add another 10kg etc. until I hit my max (only going to pull it an inch or two off the pins).

Iv done that before, static holds with a mixed grip and chalk. Managed 180kg for a comfy 15-20sec i think, use plenty of chalk but be warned - your calous' will be flaming the next day!
