Yeah I do. Have loads of stuff from my uncle and some second hand stuff from ebay. Would def buy from a charity shop if I saw something I liked in good condition. Got practically new £80 trainers for about a tenner, £150 coat for under twenty etc. Some bargains to be had.......

Warning - very light hearted post below! Ignore if you'd rather be serious "I would rather not but would do so if I had to" Seeing as this one is well in front, I'm gonna argue with most of you WTF does this mean to you? You HAD TO wear second hand clothing? Do some of you have a Hollywood interpretation of what it's like to be poor? FFS. What conditions do you think you will find yourself in where you HAVE TO wear second hand clothes and do you think that will ever happen to you? Fcuking madness Carry on

GOVINDA Serious question, my woman goes into thrift and second hand shops for her clothes and for the kids to, I dont complain but sometimes she gets stuff for me to , so as not to appear ungrateful I accept with a smile etc etc but in reality I hide them in the far off depths of the wardrobe, I know times are hard for everyone but I prefer to wear MY old clothes rather than someone elses and even save for a while for what I need, whats your opinion or views on this, in these times of hardship ! Mistake No1: Accepting someone's elses worn clothes! HELL NO!! I'll wear MY old clothes! And if/when I can afford I'll get myself new clothes!

Fcuking madness Carry on Your posts normally make a lot of sense to me mate but not this one! I think if I had very limited money then I would choose to spend it on other more necessary things than brand new clothes. Maybe the following statement would suit your pedantic mood a little better:"I would rather not but would do so if I had to prioritise the money I had in other more important areas - food and housing for example" that wouldn't have fit as nicely on the list of poll questions though sorry for the BOLD, cant un-bold the bastid now lol!

My favorite suit is a 2nd hand Ralph Lauren two button from ebay. It cost me £30. I wear I more than my other suits which cost lots of money. Yes I will happily buy second hand clothes, but only vintage and really nice quality stuff. Why spend £500 on a suit when you can get on for £50? I wish I had learned this sooner.

Purchased 10 shirts from various charity shops the other day. They are great quality and appear 'Never worn'. I paid £28 for the lot! The money I saved went towards a good quality WPI. I have the best of both worlds! Nothing but compliments, but hey...I do have the body that makes the shirts look outstanding...LOL

my mum got me a Kalvin Klein leather jacket from some charity shop like 10 years ago. nice thought, but it had a 46" chest, which was huuuuge at the time, so I never wore it. now it's too small. it's okay if I don't fasten it. I suppose I should wear it at some point.... or not.

I think attitudes have changed over the years tremendously. When I was a kid people generally had less money , and clothes were more expensive. There was none of this Primark business , and generally a pair of school trousers would cost you between £20-£40, - now you can walk into Tesco and buy two pairs for £5 !!!! Also , if you wanted to avoid being bullied to the point of misery, you would only shop in the trendy shops , which at the time were places like "Top Man"(lol - it was expensive back then !) and "Burtons" - if you were out shopping for clothes and seen going into any clothes shops that were deemed "untrendy" (which was pretty much EVERY reasonably priced shop - C&A , Debenhams, BHS) you would have hell to pay for the rest of your school life. Anyone remember Jumble Sales ? - The price of clothes was so much greater than most could afford that these were really popular , nothing worse than your mates seeing your mum going into a jumble sale !! but remember back then the "budget" options for clothes just didn't exist - it was a £20 pair of trousers or nothing ! so picking them up used was the only way some people could get by at all. And then to make all of this worse, Kids were WAY less flexible in those days, Like I said , if someone noticed a C&A label in you trousers in the changing room they would arrange a meeting with the school bullies and attempt to bully you to death for the rest of your life - Now kids are almost proud to wear "primark" stuff ! Primark would have gone down like a lead balloon in my youth . If you were ever seen even near Oxfam , your life was over !

I think we must be around the same age with your comments and experiences. Brought some memories flooding back too, some good some bad and some embarrassing!
