Shirataki Noodles? 09 March 2011 21:19 (permalink)
Anyone ever gave these a go?

They seem great if you're doing a low carb diet.  I adore noodles, and if (when) I come to cutting up for summer I want to give these a go to replace things in my diet such as Noodles, rice, pasta and bread.

They're really low calories and carb free.

Just wondering what they taste like, if their satisfying.

they taste of sod all and the texture is like overcooked spaghetti.

Peel a courgette or two and make "noodles" out of that.

tried the "fettucinni" and the "noodle" one, the fettucini one was really nice with some homemade pasta sauce, i wasnt a fan of the noodle one tho, there quite expensive too, TIO pretty much hit the nail on the head with his whole post

Try shirataki noodles from www.barenakedfood.co.uk they do a good price and shipping is free on 5 or more packs. Tasty too if you follow some of their recipes. They come with a sweet chilli sauce too!

There was a big thread on this somewhere couldnt find it.

i too found them rubbery and tasteless, not palatable at all but each to their own.

those brekan ones look quite nice tho

I use the king soba brown rice noodles from tesco, 100% organic & gluten free, and just splash a little peanut, sesame oil or soy sauce, lovely, not low carb though but better than pasta or normal noodles
