Shoulders/tris workout - Compounds 06 February 2012 20:54 (permalink)
Hi everyone im pretty new to the site, iv been reading up on alot of the content on here and have found some really good stuff.
Iv been training on and off for a few years now but have really focused myself in the last 5 months or so.
I have most of my workouts figured out and more or less know what my body reacts well to. Im training for size while using 5x5 strength workouts for all my compound lifts on a 4 day split.
My problem is im not too sure about my shoulders/tris routine, i think i may be overdoing it a little bit but cant bring myself to drop any of the exercises.
My shoulders/tris routine:

Standing shoulder press (bb) - 10, 5, 5, 5, 5
Lat raise (db) - 10, 8, 8(wire)
Front raise - 10, 8
Rear delt flye - 10, 8
Upright row - 10, 6
Shrug - 8

Dips - 10, 10, 7(with weight)
wire pushdown - 10, 6
Tri extension o/h (cable) - 10, 8

So what do you guys think, Does that sound ok to you or is it a bit much to be doing in one session?
Also how does the strenght routine on compounds only sound?
My stats 23 years old, 6ft, 87kg, diet sorted.
Also im training natural.
Thanks in advance for any advice, i welcome your criticisms!

u realy r workin shoulder to much. they get bashed alot from bench n othor stuff. Triceps are not and need more work compared to ur shoulders. try close grip bench for triceps and forgot what its called lol skull crushers lol thats it. shoulders try behind the neck presses or BRADFORD ROCKY PRESS GOOGLE IT. laterals are good but use dumnbells in stead. work your triceps more then your shoulder. i do ot try do 5 sets of 8 for my tri's they really need a hammering
could be worse you could be a tellytubbie

Tri's close grip bench, skulls, and then burn or lots of drops sets with cable twin rope pull downs, tri's get that pumped it actually hurts... But yeah your shoulders get hit when you do pressing for your chest so dont really need to do to many shoulder exercises

Thanks for your input guys, thing is with triceps im happy with the progress im making with them at the moment. I do like skull crushers so im ditching wire pulldowns and putting them in instead. Will be trying c/g bench aswel and chuck in some drop sets from time to time.
I thought as much with my shoulders workout, i think il ditch front raises, as you say front delts are getting hammered with pressing anyway. Will just do the one set of rear delt fyes after up/row.
I like the look of that bradford press and will be trying that out.
