i'll look into getting a rack eventually, just strapped for space in this room i rent. i want to get a pull up bar fitted to the wall as well at some point.

im enjoying training the legs, just that im going clubbing this weekend for my birthday and i hope im not still walking like ive crapped myself. lol

tonights session, down on energy, been driving for 6 hours today and 3 callouts, im shattered but hit the weights anyways.
no caffiene this time... need to stock up!

Yeah mate im still gettin doms from deads, normally the day after but today they have kicked in early lol within a few hours
I think its because i was compensating with the lifts to keep a bit of pressure off my ankle

ah right, just wondered as i do them with DB's but though of trying them with the BB as can get more weight on the bar etc.

Kinda like doing them with DB's though as you can get the weight at your sides and it seems a more natuarl position than having your arms in front of you, if you know what i mean?

dunno... never tried them with dumbells
ive found my grip strength isnt that great, i would probably drop 40kg dumbells, but 40kg on each end of the bar i can lift

you've hit the nail on the head there mate, i've been searching for the article i read on T-nation a while ago about trap training but can't find it for you guys. it basically stated that anatomically you should shrug arms at the side of the body, not hunched over like a BB would cause you too and even db's if you hold them to the front (like i used to ). it had diagrams showing how shruging in front of the body caused bad posture and compression around the clavical, not good for you apparently.

i now pay attention to my form to have arms at the sides of body and make sure shoulders aren't hunched forward. use DB's or shrug bar/machine.

hope this helps, i will keep an eye out for the artical.

yeah mate makes sense really, i know its always felt more natuarl with my arms at the side and TBH i found it easier to perform the reps.

use a reverse grip for the bb shrugs (if you are not already) as long as you do an even number of sets as it helps with the grip

riocat, have you tried them from behind the back (i forget the name) i havnt but it may be worth a try?
