Just had my first session back from fasting, Fasting finished on monday night, so i thought i'd slowly build up the food etc. So went today to teh gym, did a upper body workout, with light weights Bench - 4 good sets Shoulder Press - Struggled big time Lat pulldown - not too bad Dips- comfortable db curl - ok i did 2/3 sets of each then just felt dizzy, so i called it day.... then went to the toilets and everything that i had from 5 onwards came back out, including a (at the time) a very nice raspberry yoghurt, and some chicken, spinach and a plum. So i think i'm gona give it a fe extra days rest lol, but hopfully should be back into teh swing of things next week.

First proper training day since fasting fininshed. did a push routine, (but not 100% sure if its for me) Bench Press 10 x 20kg 10 x 50kg 8 x 55kg 8 x 55kg Incline DB press 10 x 15kg 10 x 15kg 10 x 20kg - felt good Shoulder Press 10 x 12.5kg 8 x 12.5kg Rear Delts 10 x 28kg 10 x 35kg 8 x 35kg Tricep pulldown various weights and reps. As you can see got a bit confused on what to do , and was mulling for a while, i did some flys as well, but yeah, was an okay session, but need to get the routine sorted.

Lol at the puking incident. You gotta let the body get used to food again its a known fact that periods of fast can induce vomitting when food is reintroduced. Ive been passing your manor on the train out to harrow recently and must comment on how much more freindly the good people of Hackney are compared to my neck of the woods in ilford.Theres actually common courtesy between folk on the trains which you rarely see here.

I probably should'nt have gone that day, i was a little too keen. Hackney is a good place, theres teh odd dodgy areas, stabbings, shottings, but other then that tis a good place to live. Legs and abs today Legs Squats 10 x 20kg 10 x 40kg 10 x 60kg 8 x 60kg Leg press - machine used was at an angle , dont know the name of it though 10 x 50kg + machine 10 x 50kg + machine 10 x 50kg + machine Leg Curl 10 x 70lbs 10 x 75lbs 8 x 85lbs Calf raises 10 x 20kg 10 x 25 kg 8 x 30kg Abs Crunches Cable Crunches Leg Raises Overall was a good workout, it was my fist leg session since fasting finished so took it really easy.

Same with any part of london mate.Ilford is an unfreindly moody place to live.I dont know what went wrong or why it went wrong to be honest mate but it wasnt always like this.Judging from what ive seen hackney does look like a good place to live. Was the leg press a 45 degree angle?

Yep, you muslims keep muscleworks going.. :P Twice I trained and I was the only one on the bottom floor on the gym for quite some time.. Very quite on other days.. I saw one of the solid looking muslims, (don't really know him, must be 25ish, strong) was training while fasting though. Must of been bloody hard work doing that..

We rule lol, A few of my friends were training during fasting, but they trained just after they started eating in the evening, so that might have been a lil easier. But in the next few years, with longer days it gona be hard to train and fast at the same time. Excuse my ignorence but i always thought halal was a way of slaughtering livestock. I thought there would be a less obvious name the the leg press ;P Halal means permissable, e.g. you may hear of halal banking, its a bank account that is permissable with islamic ethics (interest is not paid) so it'nt just related to food...... make sense?

Aahhh i see, permissable.I never knew thats what it meant.Like jewish cosher. We have similar beleifs in that context then cause i dont agree with the making of money from money either.Money should be for the exchange of goods and services rendered only and not to be used as a commodity itself.Ideally the exchange of goods and services could be done without the need of money and has been done in some societies in history. Pullups are imo one of the best upper body excersises going and have really given my back some width not to mention the cruelist bicep cramps post workout.Good to mix wide and close grip for different attentions ie wide hitting lats and close hitting biceps more.

Stef, i agree pullups are very good, which is why i would love to do em, but im just carp, though i anm thinking of doing 2-3 sets on the machine every session just to get started, I am okay with close grip pull ups, but wide chins, im terrible, i can just about do one.

Might do a session dedicated to cardio tommorow depending on my leg doms.

The hard stuff works best skinny.Mix em about, no need to do them rigidly every week as variety is the spice of life "as they say".But wide grip pullups will add width to your back the quickest of all excersises i'd say. I belieive i read you have an assisted pullup machine at your gym.Every time you do them knock off one plate so each time you get one plate heavier..if you can see what i'm saying but also aim to stay in the 6 - 10 rep range for best muscle stimulation and growth.

Went gym yesterday Push Bench Press 10 x 50kg 8 x 60kg 5 x 60kg Incline DB press 10 x 20kg 8 x 22.5kg 6 x 25kg - new PB Decline Bench Press - first time i've done this for ages 10 x 50kg 8 x 50kg BB Shoulder Press 8 x bar (20kg) 5 x 25kg 3 x 25kg - Rear Delts 10 x 35kg 10 x 35kg 8 x 35kg Lat raise 12 x 5kg 12 x 5kg 12 x 5kg Tricep pulldown various weights and reps. Overall not a good workout, my flat bench was crap, felt really tight and struggled. Happy with my incline, got a new PB. My only worry with this routine is my shoulders are absolutely knackered by the time ive finished with chest, so i might have to rethink the routine.
