Smith v Dodson. Sky Sports 1 tonight
12 March 2010 14:02
( permalink)
Paul Smith v Tony Dodson british super middle weight title Kell Brook v Kyrstiyov Bienias (sp?) welter but no title (kell brook is worth watching) Tony Bellew v Atoli Moore commonwealth light heavyweight title Anyone watching this? Im going and cant wait, ive been looking forward to this for ages now Smith has to put on a good show after the poor display in his last fight and if Dodson loses, he's finished. Think its on at 10 on sky sports 1 anyway.

Man up. Im hung over like a dog but it was worth it. Brutal performance from Smith. Bad cut early on and he kept going to a convincing win. Tony Bellew looks interesting, see how far he can go. I didnt realise that Kell Brook is now the mandatory to Pac man...?

Paul Smith went straight out on the ale after the fight! Top man! Brook will smash Khan imo... Thats why he never gets mentioned as a possible opponent as he possesses too much danger. Khan would rather fight easier bouts and hype himself up as being the first person thats going to beat Mayweather... Tony Bellew wants Nathan Cleverly at some point. Hes said for a while that he wants to step up and Cleverly is the first hurdle. Bellews an animal and is the most hard faced cnut in the world. I think he's ace.

paul smith is a brute of a man! was really close that fight, only the point off and took his foot off a tiny bit more than smith , lost him that fight. brook is unknown thus far so wd be very silly for khan to even consider fighting such a dangerous guy i think cleverly will be too quick for bellew! he is strong but not as good as clev imo!!

The score cards said very different. One judge had Smith 5 rounds ahead iirc. Taking away all the blood and cuts, i think Smith had it convincingly. Dodson boxed a good fight imo but was dominated bar a few rounds i think. Brook isnt as unknown as you may think. He will be to the average punter but in the boxing world he'll have been monitored for some time. Warren pushed Khan forward because of his Olympic hype and other boxers have suffered in not getting attention because of this. It was first time ive seen Brook live. Iirc he was meant to fight Michael Jennings on the Khan Barrera night (previous fight was a defeat to Cotto at the mgm...) but it was called off due to illness or injury. That would have been a good bout too. Brook is now the mandatory to Pac man so he will be well repsected (i dont believe the fight will happen, or would Brook stand a chance). Dont write Bellew off. Cleverly has stated how he wants to finish his studies before he commits to a full time boxing career. Bellew just wants to smash people. He has massive hunger and if he connects with a good shot, anyone 'could' do down...

^ Belated cheers mate IMO.... Smith v Dodson was a messy shambles as you sometimes get with both these guys, apart from a couple of rounds late on which were decent. I had Smith winning. Wouldn't call this one a war, more a tug of war Brook dominated with ease against a guy who didn't want to know. Kind of agree with the comment that Brook could trouble Khan, not right now though, needs a few more fights Tony Bellew wasn't someone I'd heard of, one to watch

Keep an eye on Bellew mate yes. Long term, he will meet Cleverly... Slightly biased as it who i get my tickets off but Stephen Smith is the main man out of all those. This lad will be world champion at featherweight imo. Oh and check a few other boxers on past nights on that video list. Frankie Gavin will go far and if it continues, keep an eye out for a lad called Ronnie Heffron.
