Cheers chaps... bench is consistent now... After today, I realise there is much more there... jabs or no jabs, lol. Today was the best training day I've had, I reckon.

2nd August 2014
Ad hoc Powerlifting Test Day
Went in to the gym just to muck around really. However, squats felt really good so kept pushing it.
  • Paused squats, oly shoes, with bands: Bar x 10, 5; 60 x 5, 5; 80 x 2; 100 x 2; 120 x 2; 140 x 1
  • Paused squats, no bands: Singles: 140, 140, 140, 150, Belt on 160, 170, 180, 190, 200 (joint PB).
Best my squats have ever felt. First time I've felt I was dropping between my knees and just standing up again. Sounds obvious, but squats have never felt like that for me. 190 was really nice and smooth. Knee came in a lot on the 200, but didn't feel too bad. Didn't bother with a spotter, and wasn't with any safety catches either... probably a bit daft, but it was one of those slanting racks so probably could have dumped it. I'm going to do the Candito thing again, but with the bands and groove this tech, but I'm very positive going forwards.

Realised the 600 was on so this turned into PB day.
  • Paused bench: 60 x 5, 5; 80 x 2; 100 x 2; 120 x 1; 130 x 1; 140 x 1; 150 x 1; 160 x .....officially a zero. I did complete the lift, but my ass came off the bench.
A little gutted, but also happy as I did a lot of benching just yesterday. As a bro lift, though, I got da 3-fiddy.
  • Deads, beltless: 60 x 5; 100 x 5; 140 x 2; Singles: 180, 210, 230, 250, 260 PB.
  • TOTAL: 610 (PB)
Over the moon with that. First time I've deaded over 240 in... got to be over a year, as that's when I had that niggling back injury. The 250 was a really nice smooth lift. The 260 was slow, a bit ugly but not even close to a hitch. I think that's about 25Kg on my total. All this at about 105 kg.

When I come back, I'm going to eat better and drink a bit less, and run Candito again. Deload now... which, realistically is going to be a fortnight.

Blinding stuff, well done, mate. Horribly jelly of the 260. Impressed the squats have held out with the tinkering. All round cracking. Enjoy the break now and know what you can do on your return

Cheers dude. The squats: I've always thought the strength is there, it's just a case of making everything push in the right direction, and i've now had glimpses of what that feels like. I need to pick a new set of numbers for my PBs. Thinking of going 155 on bench, 260 on deads and 190 on squats again, as the rep work really is relentless, and my form did break down at 200.

Sounds fair, maybe make the squat 195 Really pleased candito paid off after how you felt it had gone, and those bands have obviously been a good move too...
