26th March 2015
  • Squats: 140 x 1; 160 x 1; 180 x 1; 190 x 1, 1; 140 pause x 5
  • Quad ext: 5 x 12 reps
  • Lying hammy curls: 5 x 10-12 reps
  • Hack squat: 10 reps: +20 kg, + 60 kg, + 80 kg, + 100 kg
  • One legged squats: 45 lb x 8, 8, 8
Was hoping to go heavy and hard on the squats tonight, but feeling the effects of Tuesday's deads and my back felt like the limiting factor in the lift from about 140! So took it easy on the squats and did quite a bit of other work instead. Decent enough session.

A couple of decent lads down to the gym. One competes in some natural bodybuilding comps. He showed me a pic of one of the other competitors... looked like someone off the cover of Flex. Massive TMNT belly and most of his body consisted of veins. Claims natural. Also told me about one of their mates who was coming off the gear to compete in a drug-free powerlifting meet. His opening lifts are bigger than all current records... so annoying.

What's this.... listening to your body? It's the devil's work!!

Coming off to compete as a natty, sorry, drug-free? Don't they have to have a minimum time clean at least?

Not really. I just didn't have a choice, like with my crippling premature ejaculation.

To be honest, I've no idea. I would have thought it was like Oly lifting, and just passing the test??

Do you find the extra leg work has helped your squatting?.. Bodybuilding reps too!

Do you do the one legged ala pistol stylee?

Most of my assistance work is done in the 10-12 range. I just keep press (all varieties), squats and deads in the 2-6 range (which is admittedly 75% of my work) with the occasional 20-repper set thrown in.

Pistols? LOL. No chance! I put one leg behind me on a bench, and hold a couple of 20 kg dumbbells. I need to do more of these as I struggle with this exercise and it turns my glutes to fire.

And nothing has helped my squatting. Ever.

And that's even if he gets tested. That's the thing, unless you do get tested and caught, you can claim natty until the cows come home.

  • Paused bench: 120 x 3; 130 x 2; 135 x 2; 140 x 2; 120 x 5
  • Close grip chins: BW x 14, 10, 8
  • Side lat raises: 18 x 15; 20 x 12, 12; 16 x 15
Couldn't really be ar5ed but that will do. That's pretty much the end of definite, and progressive training for a long time. Not that my training has been particularly progressive for a number of years now, just a few kg on all the lifts.

I go down to Cambridge on Tuesday/Wednesday and will be labouring for my mate doing my house until the end of April, when I'm off to Sweden doing some waste-of-time science for a week. I'll be doing a lot of travelling up to Manchester and it's just gonna screw everything up. Plan is to eat lots of protein and not much else and get to the gym when I can. I'm gonna join Pure Gym in Cambridge as it will only cost me an extra £5 a month over my current Pure Gym membership in Altrincham (and DV's gym is £5/session). I'll get in when I can, but will need to be doing Uni work at night. Will be good to do something productive, at least.

At least you're being sensible in your approach mate and accepting that the next year (?) isn't going to be that productive in terms of gym gainz but will hopefully improve your life in other areas. Sometimes you have to take those hits and realise they're are more important things than picking up weights and putting them down again. I had to do it for about a 12-18mths but it goes by quick and you'll be back smashing deadlifts in no time.

That all sounded a bit too supportive. Best readdress the balance.

Enjoy being small + weak, phaggot.

Sweden, nice.

2. There are two levels of beauty. On the elite level you have a smattering of 8s and 9s with a few 7s thrown in. On the other level you have 6s and below who may have a cute face, but are extremely sloppy with their appearance and are overweight. Surprisingly, Sweden is fat. It’s perhaps the fattest country in Scandinavia, though it’s a close call with Denmark. Most girls are on the chubby side.

Actually maybe not.
