Cracking work mate...no doubt you'll soon adapt to Smolov, always works well for you...not tempted with Smolov Jr for your bench?

Definitely not. It's too much on the shoulders and triceps. I find the lower body adapts nicely but it's just too much for upper body stuff. Increasing the weight on 5 x 5s and another session at 3 x 2-3 reps will get me back up to 150.

Those beers sounds amazing mate. Have you tasted 'Farmer's Blonde' by Bradfield Brewery in Sheffield?
I was drinking it in a pub called The Blue Bell in York last week. Not particularly strong but an absolutely gorgeous ale.

I never went to The Blue Bell when  I was York. According to my beer records it turns out I have had the Farmer's Gold. Can't remember it, mind! Gave it a 3.5/5 which is a good mark.

Good stuff mate, I'll look out for some of the beers you mentioned above as well

Hectic few days including 20 miles of walking on the Sunday. Not much food either.

95.2 kg! Technically, by 0.1 lb, I'm under 15 stone....

Tired and the weights felt heavy. Pulled a muscle in my trap in the first working set of OHP. Got 75kg: 3 x 3. Hurt to squat because of my neck and my legs are still a bit sore from the walking. Jacked it in. Two weeks of bad training as in, once more this week, and maybe once next week, and then... then... I can start putting some muscle on and strength. The latter will happen, but I'll probably just get fat.

This is not sounding like a good week for getting little injuries so maybe a good thing that you won't be training much for then next week or so. Just tick over and then get your game face on in a fortnight.... I'm looking to get lean, so if it helps we can do cardio together

20mile walk! I hope their were some pub stops for retopping up the glycogen stores.

Bummer about the injury bud. I remember hurting my trap a few years ago and it's not pleasant.

Animal: I pull a trap about once a year. it's like a sh1t birthday. Plays up for a week and makes driving a b1tch, as you check the blind spot and die a little, but it's more annoying than anything. As for the pubs.... no. There was a couple at the start of the walk, but by the time we got going and the pubs were open there wasn't a single boozer.... terrible times.

DV: I'm not getting lean, I'm just losing weight :(

I'm losing weight, and strength, yet gaining fat.

Loving the theme to Black Beauty my man.

Anyways, got a single session in last week when I was helping my mate put my mum and dad's bathroom in, back Yarmouth way. Got into the gym today, and will go in Friday morning to see how many more walnuts DV has slipped into the body-condom.

My house is almost there. Probably two solid weeks of work and the inside will be finished. Building regs all passed, anyways. The majority of the painting is done. Outside needs painting and the back garden/postage stamp land scaping too. That can wait.

Thesis in for the end of the month (not really been working on it). Got a (real) job interview tomorrow, then another one next Thursday, and also got a post-doc interview at Cambridge uni, in a couple of weeks. I'm hoping by the end of this month I'll have a job, a house and a thesis submitted. Then... then... I can concentrate on making myself a god damn sexual tyrannosaurus.

More so.

Best of luck with the interview tomorrow too and the uni one next week

Glad it's all finally coming together for you now, mate, the prospect of real life work must be the most daunting, porbably makes the whole house move and renovations a mere drop in the ocean .

Best of luck on the job front anyway, just make sure it can accommodate your training

The amount of time you've spent on the house, you could have built a secret gym (behind a bookcase perhaps?..with the "key" being Arnold's encyclopaedia ha) ..that no one knows about except you!

Best of luck for your interviews mate.
