So,

I have been lurking on here since just after christmas reading a lot of threads and absorbing lots of information.  Two things that have become abundantly clear from the community - there are no quick fixes for weight loss and it helps to have someone you are accountable to.  This is my attempt to log my progress and hold myself accountable.

Current stats
187 cm tall
110.8 kg
27.1% body fat buy impedance scales.

First weigh in on the 4th Jan had my weight at 111.9 kg so I am pleased with progress.

Goals for this year
Weight - sub 90 kg before starting serious strength training
Dragon sportive in June - sub eight hour time.  Last year my time was 9.39 so lots of work to do there.
Look damn good at a wedding in August.  Its in San francisco so I want to be able to work the good looking englishman angle.

Updates will follow regularly.

Stuart

    Well update time.

pretty good week of training for me.  2 hrs of SSCV and 1 hour or really intense intervals.  Not been training too hard during the week as I have a big weekend of training liked up for the weekend.

I weigh myself mondays and fridays as they are mandatory none training days.

so Monday I weighed in at 108.5 kgs and this evening 107.9 kg with a body fat 25.3%.  an absolute result for this week!

@ ILPE - thanks very much.  The support is appreciated.

So the Monday night weigh in from... 107.9 kg on Friday,

One big ride on saturday, complete rest on sunday and this evening I weigh in at

        106.7 kg

Whilst there is part of me that really likes dropping the weight so quickly the more sensible part of me recongnises it is too fast.

Since I started this I have been targetting approximately 2,200 kcal food on non training days and 2,500 - 3,500 on training days.  The actual amount on training days has been dependent on dration and intensity of training done.

For this week I am going to target 2,500 calories per day and see what impact that has on the rate of weight loss.
