Yeah, why not - theres room for all sizes in rubgy a lot of it is down to ability anyway - my son regularly plays No2 at only a few kilos heavier than you If the local team think you're too light for the scrum you can always play with the backs for a season while you bulk 80-ish kilos isnt exactly small anyway, by man-in-the-street standards

You can play at any size. You might not make a national side, but there will always be a team if you're keen enough.

Just bang some juice in you if its that much of an issue and its really what you want to do. If your a lean 79kg thats better than a 90 fat knacker with zero fitness especially when playing at flanker

If you can keep running, keep making it to the breakdowns, keep nailing that fly/scrum half off the side of the scrum, then it doesn't matter how light you are. I played open side flanker at 13.5 stone so no reason why you can't.
You did gain far too much fat though,I mean, you're not muscular at all, you're just a fat mess.

Tbh whenever i see rugby players nowadays very few are actualy big. I see huddersfield giants players out all the time and they are all 6ft ish and 13-14 stone. Hardly big. Go for it dude

I think to be good at flanker its more about skills. You need to be a sh*it hot tackler and very good at rucking / securing the ball as you will be expected to get the break downs early. Size isn't so much of a factor as you are not expected to be a primary ball carrier. So long as your technique is right you should be fine. It will depend also on what level you are playing at, 1st XV, 2nd XV, 3rd XV and at what level the club is at. Requirements will be very different from say a National 3 North 1st XV team to a Local cumbrian 2nd XV. Why not just give it a go and see how you fair. D14.

Yeah, depends totally on what level you play at. At my old club one of the best no6 we had was skinny as a rake. But covered head to toe in tattoo's, piercings, and looked like an evil version of Jesus. However I'm 5'11", 15stone and often feel too small to play in the backrow!! Guess it's just your mindset. Backy was criticised for years for being too small, and look what he's accomplished.

to put in to perspective martin williams is 6 foot 1 and 100kg , and he looks small compared to most back rowers ! Xaxier Rush 6 foot 2 112kg's Jerry Collins 6 foot 4 107kg's Marty Hollah 6 foot 102kg's Richie mccaw 6 foot 1 106 kg's backy 5 foot 9 89 kg's all world class back rowers ! with quite a large difference in heights and weight. just go for it mate !!
