TV Nerds...I come to you for aid

Looking to buy a Full HD TV (37 Inch), but only want to spend a max of £500, not really looking for advice on what tv to get but what to look for when buying them...like are LED the best things out or are LCD and plasma still better, does it matter if its LED back lite? if it says 'HD Ready 1080p' does it mean its full HD. Thanks! :)
I do a lot of push ups and sit ups. And I drink plenty of milk.

It's a pretty good deal at the minute. £400 is about the best going rate for 1080p 37" on a branded telly. Then you are talking another £100 for 40/42", and then £599 for a 50" plasma. It's horses for courses really. If you plan on HD gaming, Bluray, and future proofing then you want a 1080p screen in my opinion. If you aren't going to be using Bluray, not fussed about 1080p especially, and may be mainly watching SD tv for the forseeable future you are possbily better off buying a better quality HD Ready tv for your money. Personally i would go 1080p, and if you can stretch to it get the 1080p plasma option
