Had a reading that actually stated ex girlfriends birthday etc and many other things on that were spot on...what do you people make of readings etc??
Believe in any of it??

Personally I don't believe in anything like it. I'm open-minded enough to give it a go, but dont' think it would achieve anything. With me what is black is black and whats white is white. I dont believe in psychic ability, superstition, religion, the paranormal etc...

My brain hurts already :)

Load of ****ing nonsense spent about 40 mins walking along the prom in blackpool today the people are clearly charlatons one even claimed to be  romany gypsey yet was clearly black how does that work :S

What did he/she actually say? Did they say 'Your ex-girlfriends birthday was xxxxxxx' or did they just give the date and you told them whose birthday that was?

slightly off subject a wee bit, only slightly! but does anyone believe or ever done a ouija board n had any results???
reading a few storys online recently n its some scary ****, if its true!!!???
as for psychics etc, i believe some are chancers but prob a select few who actually do have a gift!!

Seriously, it's all crap and explainable without resorting to fairy stories.

my dad was taught palmestry and tarot by the gypises he used to hang around with in the 60's.

He has a lot of books on the subjects and does a fair amount of readings for people...for free.

con artists charge
real practitioners do not.

i've had a few readings and its been all pretty spot on even for a few friends.

interesting - cant completely write it off as there have been people over the years who have predicted things in the future so it does make you wonder how they managed to get it right.

What about all the predictions that haven't come true?  

The most interesting thing about this, in my mind, is why people believe and why they want to believe in the weird and wonderful.  It's a fascinating area.  You need to consider a lot of things - understanding of probability and coincidence, psychology, evolutionary instincts, lack of scientific knowledge, anecdote as evidence, etc, etc.  

There's big money on offer to anyone who can prove they've got psychic abilities. So far no winners.

She doesnt know me at all....knew i was self employed with a reasonable sized business...ie needs premises etc,so not a chippy or sparky...she knew i was looking to sell my business n it would all go ahead.
She told me the age the bloke that is going to buy it...i didnt know that myself so asked him and it was exact.
She knows the girl i worked with was my ex lover....she told me her star sign,gave me her birthday,told me we had a lot of time together but still had a lot more to go,then told me that the girl i started seeing but then stopped seeing wanted the lot...ie families marriage,kids etc...which is true but inside i am supposed to be with the old one...ive known this before i even talked to this woman.....she told me id be getting money from overseas which didnt make sense...then out of the blue sum1 that owes me told me their dad was coming over from cyprus to bail him out and id get my money next week....
She told me the star sign of the bloke that my ex is now seeing and it was right too.....i didnt even mention she was seeing sum1 else.....
There were lots of other things that she knew nothing about and just came out with them.
she knew i was drinking and i normally dont...im out all the time on the p1ss coz my mind is a complete mess right now.....

I can see lots of stuff that is often said is pretty vague etc but guessing dates exactly......knowing things that i didnt so cudnt give off signals,then going off to find out myself and she was exactly right.Scarey.

in regards to the birthday.she said i was supposed to be with this girl as we were soul mates or twin flames...i know this inside myself....then she said the girl in question is on the cusp of aries...i didnt know what this meant...she then said it meant her birthday is only just into aries which is right to within hours....
I had to look up what the star sign dates were coz i didnt know what sign she was and this woman was right!! couldnt give off a signal if i didnt know it myself could i??

Without the benefit of being able to hear exactly what was said it's very hard to explain how the effect is achieved.
