Can anyone recommend anywhere on the southern Spanish coast that isn't a chavscum paradise?

yeah - the expensive bits, and the bits the english dont go to! lol

spain unfortunately is somewhat over-run with british chavscum, but if you can find resorts that are catering mostly for german or dutch tourists they tend to be rather nicer (just expect all the sunloungers to be claimed! )

A friend of mine has recommended Nerja which is about 50 miles from Malaga. I must say it sounds like what I'm after. Has anyone been?

The Spanish must hate us with a passion!

Yeah they do mate. My missus has been completley blanked and they refused to serve her in one shop, as she was evidently english.

we went to Cadiz a couple of years ago, was very nice, not typical chavvy type resorts but very nice beach and good weather (apparently it can get windy, but we didnt get any) very hot, very sunny. Great food not crawling with pi55ed up chavs. Only just over 2 hrs on the plane, was great alround would go back.

How about this for a beach

In fairness to Tennerife there were some very nice places, the island itself as said is volcanic so not that picturesque, basically a black rock...lol
but there are some very nice areas.
The weather is great, we went in nov-dec and it was hot and sunny everyday.
The food was good, great water park, great animal park (Lorro park) killer wales etc.
We were near Adeje, which was ok, had a trip into playas de americas, and couldnt get back quick enough.
But i would go to Tennerife again particularly winter months, i personally would go to Egypt irrespective of the present riots and would choose the cannaries over egypt always.

Have a look at Elevenarife, like Tennerife only goes one better.

Looks great, cheers. I shall look into it. If it's windy that cool too. I like wind.

What's Gibraltar like, does anyone know? Do they take sterling there or is it Euros? I assume the weather is the same as Malaga?
